The only thing I can think of is that if I bought a slightly smaller size maybe they would be tighter and wouldn't make that sound.

I only knocked off a star because I did find that my feet hurt from a lack of cushioning when walking long distances.

The only downside is that they sound like flip-flops.

When walking around indoors (eg: shopping or walking around in a school or lobby of an apartment where there isn't carpeting) they make a flip-flop, flip-flop sound.

I've taken a pair hiking, camping, dancing, running, rock climbing, and even the beach and these shoes are very hardy!

My feet never hurt when I wear these for long periods of time, I've used these shoes for an 12 hour dance festival and my feet didn't hurt at all!

but the fabric/foundation of the shoe itself was so wide that when I got in the water, all of the rocks and sand got in immediately and made for very poor water shoes.

It was a full size too large AND very wide.

The fit now is a bit snug at the tops of my toes, I'm on the fence about the width.

The 9's were too big and the 8's were too small.

I might have been better off sizing a single size down.

I wear a size 8 shoe and took a size 7 in these.

The quality was poor and the bottoms ripped almost instantly when I started to walk on the rocks in the water.

but once you get used to them they save your feet in the water, on the beach, especially if you love near beaches with a lot of rocks or shells and don't want to have sore feet while enjoying the beach.

Bought these for the lake - they are perfect for walking around a rocky beach, swimming in the water, etc.

These have been nice house shoes and my daughter has enjoyed them.

Now, to be fair, I did go pretty hard on them and wore them pretty much everyday for running errands, going on walks, hanging in backyard, and even went to a few weddings and danced in them.

I have fairly narrow feet and sometimes elastic sandals are too big.

They fit perfectly and are comfortable and the navy color I chose matches perfectly with my jeans and other navy slacks and dresses.

They still look cute and are some of the most comfortable shoes I own.

There is obviously a bit of wear and tear after 12 months of wearing them preeeety often,

I've gone walking around the city on slope hills with them, walked on the beach with them, in the snow, etc and they are still in pretty great shape.

but after being on my feet walking, running, dancing for 6+ hours, I didn't have any pain.

However, I do not recommend wearing them to bed.
