Have learned the following two things: 1) the boots dry fast as all the puddles lately have given him plenty of opportunities to get them wet and 2) the laces themselves didn't hold up wall that well; the fabric weave around the 'core' of the lace wore through.

I tried ordering these boots 2 times because these are the boots my grandson likes to wear., he out grew his boots and I ordered a size 6M and recieved a size 3M , so I sent them back and reordered again a size 6M boot and what do I get is a size 3M again.

These boots are well made, obviously insulated with 800g of Thinsulate Ultra, have a nice toe cap to help with wear and tear and have deep tread.

Additionally, they have stood up well to the normal wear and tear from his wearing them this past fall; they still look almost brand new.

They are also continuing to hold up very well to all the wear and tear he subjects them to; they are still looking very close to "new".

I love them my someone on a week long science fair trip they were in the woods the whole time kept his feet dry extremely comfortable and when he came back they still look  Fantastic after week of walking through the woods and he was in  Puddles his feet stayed dry and they are  Well  Worth the money

So far these are holding up well, which does kind of surprise me since I have had numerous problems with Rocky boots in the past, ever since they moved their manufacturing to another Country.

While it isn't quite fall yet, I am pretty confident that these boots are going to prove durable for an energetic 8 year old and, most importantly, keep his feet warm when playing outside during a cold Minnesota winter day.

Update 12/6/13 -> after the past few days of cold weather here in the Upper Midwest (the high today was about 0) I can say that these boots do the trick.

After being worn during the 'Polar Vortexes' we experienced this winter, the boots kept his feet warm.

I have very wide feet and large ankles and legs due to swelling, and the top of the ankle part of the boot is very stiff and needs time to break in and make it less rigid.

Part of the reason for this is that they do run a bit large in size,

At the beginning it was digging in to my leg at times, Eventually with wearing longer socks to protect my leg more and with more wear the opening softened up a bit and wasnt uncomfortable any more.

That being said, they still look good, and they do not really show wear and tear either, so they are very well made.

I've been wearing them for about a month now with zero wear and tear issues.

For slip-on steel toe boots, they're good.

I get steel toe boots and I can take them on and off easy.

At over 75, living on my horse ranch in Texas, these are even easier & quicker to put on just to feed than my tall cowboy Ariat work boots that I love.

I got these boots to work in.

They are very comfortable on the feet, with plenty of room for you to wiggle your toes and such.

They are easy to slip on and off and protect your feet very well while wearing them.

As far as comfort, they're acceptable as long as I'm wearing thick socks - which I tend to do anyway.

The laces are really of very bad quality, very thin, cheap Italian moccasin style.

But the straps of the laces are not open: it is thus necessary to remove the laces on at least 3 staps to put the shoe on.

This is difficult because the lace is very thin and round (2 mm diameter) and just fits into the straps.

Here, big problem: there is no internal padding at the ankle bone and one of the straps is pressing exactly on the bone.

I had to untie the shoelace so much that I could only tie it with 2 out of 3 straps.

Then up close, a lot of glue, stitching, and the imitation leather is really thin, it will scratch or tear easily.

Walking is then very painful while paradoxically, the shoe doesn't hold the ankle at all, because the leather is too thin and very supple.

The shoe is neither waterproof nor warm or.

Unless you have a really wide and thick foot and can't find anything to wear, avoid these shoes.

No need to try a type of terrain other than road, at least a type A hiking trail; with a type B (a few stones, roots), you will leave your foot sole there, and the shoe too!

The grip is rather weak; on a hard wet ground, the sole slides easily.

I see a lot of reviews pointing out wear and tear around the sides of the show and that's accurate due to the light covering material they apply in those areas

My current pair is over the year mark and I only have minor scuffs and wear, you couldnt even tell from a distance.

But the weight on these boots are as light as a feather! !

At first glance, the boot looks good quality.

The length of the shoe is exact; me who usually wears a 48 because of my width of foot was able to put on a 46, my real size, without any problem.

The first pair I have worn for over 6 months and they are going strong - no rips, tears or issues with the side zip.

I spend hours on my feet and these help with the fatigue and discomfort that usually hits me.

These are fleece lined in the inside which makes me a little nervous they will start to stink pretty quickly.

But I really do like these and I will update the review later in the winter to tell how they held up to the cold and the wear and tear.

If I lace the boots up my ankle gets rubbed and does not allow me to march in them without discomfort.

the lacing pulls it strange, so I tend to leave the top lace undone to make them more comfortable.

The middle lace support going to the ankle needs to re-thought in the lacing area.

It's cumbersome to lace up and get the laces to pull tight.

but when you are walking in the snow with these boots my socks definitely did get wet.

It's been almost 4 years of daily use and they're only just starting to fall apart on me - the only real problem being the little gaps between leather and sole and now my toes get wet just walking through a dewy lawn.

It took about two weeks for them to really work with my feet, and at times it was painful to walk in them.

I had these in the box ready to ship back they were so uncomfortable out of the box.

Like what they said in the description, you might want to get half to a full size down of what you actually got.

but I only ordered a half a size smaller and it really should have been a full size to a full size and a half smaller than what I wear in other brands of boots.

It is more than frustrating ordering a product, and feeling like you hedged your bets ordering a half a size smaller, and finding that doesn't even begin to cover the spread on these.

However, I got through it with bandaids and extra socks, and now I couldn't be happier with my boots.
