Waterproof boots are just too hot and don't breath enough for warm weather.

Ironically waterproof boots make your feet wet from sweat.

I think this is because on the Targhee there is a hard plastic strip that runs along both sides of the outside of the shoe and does not allow this area to splay or stretch when your foot is in the boot.

Voyageur had better laces that are “wave” construction instead of smooth like Targhee.

but they run about half a size small so I had to return the first pair I ordered.

but then sometimes my foot slides around because the only part of my foot that is “wide” is forefoot etc.

They are too airy and light for such duty.

They are the first high top hiking boots I've purchased from Keen, and are very comfortable.

However I do get more padding and support from my Merrell hiking boots.

Left is new Voyageurs, right is new Targhees.

The boots I did buy were from a competitor and they did the job too well.

but I still don't know of any boots that would have held up as long as they did without some deterioration.

Keen shoes have reliably for my size 15 foot for years.

Comfortable from the moment you put them on.

Soooo comfortable
On the first day I got these I wore them for 14 hrs straight and it was like walking around in sneakers.

Again, super comfortable right out of the box!

The Targhee sole & underfoot does appear more comfortable.

But they were comfortable, sturdy and delivered exactly what I was looking for.

Good For Light Loads, Flat Terrain
Size: I ordered these boots a full size too large based on the recommendations of others, and found them still too small.

The rivets for the eyelets have a small diameter, and I suspect this will lead to early fatigue or failure of the component, especially if you tend to lace tighter for descending terrain.

These boots are not Gore-Tex lined and are among the few that can be found without such a waterproof liner.

They are not insulated for cold, so go with a larger size and heavier wool socks for night time temperatures / hikes.

They are made in Europe so ABSOLUTELY order them a half size larger if you are used to North American sizing.

They are suitable for warm, arid environments where a moisture barrier would significantly increase the amount of sweat retained in the foot pocket, leading to a miserable hiking experience.

After a week+ in these boots, my feet are healing and I am almost completely pain free.

In closing, this is the lightest and most comfortable military-style boot that I've ever worn.

I have now put about 20 hard miles on them in the last 10 days and have no complaints with the fit or the performance.

They are warm and waterproof, without feeling like they are not breathable.

Great winter hike boots
Very high quality.

I have always liked the asolo line of hiking boots.

We climbed a high peak in the ADKs in January and these boots were perfect.

Vibram Arctic Grip works well
Thus far I've found the boots to fit well and are comfortable.

Even on wet ice they have been very good compared to my boots that have the classic Vibram lugged soles.

Nice boot for colder weather
Asolo shoes seem to fit my feet better than other brands.

Perfect shoes for working 12 hr shifts in a nursing home, they are very comfortable.

Northside Men's McKinley Waterproof Hiking Boot

The waterproofing left much to be desired as I was hoping they'd be waterproof to just above my ankles

but water was getting in anytime water went over my toes.

The right shoe started leaking water and the left sole was coming off.

I wear a size 13 and these are more like a 12.

Unfortunately I will be returning them because they don't offer a size bigger.

When I put the soles up to my size 13 timberlands its obvious they are about an inch shorter.

UPDATE: It's been two years and these shoes broke.

They are poor quality, they unpick when walking I recommend HI-TEC, SALOMON OR ADIDAS WALKING

These boots were comfortable, lightweight, and breathable.

Still for the price a good overall hiking boot.

To the day I enjoy camping and hiking and exploring nature.

They were comfortable for 12 miles of hiking, had decent grip on slippery surfaces

I received mine today and so far I'm enjoying them, they fit snug and definitely need to be broken in

Good fit, warm, waterproof, comfortable and breathable

But as an all round boot for hiking and walking, hard to beat.

Able to pull boot tongue out further for easier fit.

Not at all waterproof
North face discontinued my favorite boots so I tried these instead.

Unfortunately, after a mere week or so they lost whatever small waterproof ability they may have begun with.

I was scared they wouldn’t fit and the return process would be horrible

Other than that, they’re awesome fit and very breathable.

Excellent hiking boots survived a 100 mile one week long hike
I bought these as my previous boots shoestrings decided to be my cats play things for the weekend.

Light and comfortable
Looks good, very light and comfortable.

but they fit perfect and are crazy comfortable.

Extremely comfy, snd worked like a charm for a week in yosemite with 100 miles of hiking.

I hiked in them steadily for two months and they held up very well in terms of durability, with no splitting or tearing anywhere.

My wife was wearing Lowa boots and in the same conditions she never wet her feet.
