Then recently I bought two pairs, only to find the same thing: the laces are so short that it's virtually impossible to even tie a knot, let alone a bow.

I resent having to make a shopping expedition to buy usable laces even when I can find them.

At this point, my only quibble -- not important enough to consider an actual complaint -- is that the laces are a bit shorter than I would prefer.

Out of the box, they felt narrower than I expected; it took three or four days of all-day wear for them to form more comfortably on my feet.

(I suppose buying in "wide" instead of normal width might have made them fit better straight out of the box.)

My only negative is that the sole is very, very stiff.

Great value
My Brooks Walkers finally wore out.

After a few 20k step walks, I can say the comfort and durability are comparable to Brooks at a much better price.

The leather in Rockport shoes seems to have gotten even thicker over the years, making for much sturdier shoes, and you may have to order your regular size

My old Rockport City / Plays were so old it was no longer possible to see the label indicating they were wide, and I had forgotten, so when I ordered my Prowalkers in a regular size 11 they were the perfect length

The fit and comfort are classically Rockport great.

Thank you Rockport for being a brand that still exists.

Comfort and durability
I am using rockport prowalkers walking shoes since 25 years.

and my new Rockport penny loafers are the same amazing quality as the Prowalkers.Availability of Rockports here in Winnipeg is practically nonexistent.

It does not flex like a more expensive tennis shoe would flex when walking.

I have now bought two pair again, casual and tie shoes for support and comfort for walking and daily wear!

The breather holes are high up on the shoe so you can walk through a little water and stay 100% dry.

Well made - look good
They are solid and look good.

but no brands is matching its comfort and durable .

So sturdy, so comfortable, so far the best walking/working/everyday/everywhere shoe I've ever found.
