Rothco Jungle Boots Work Boots Hiking Boots

As sizing chart for these boots says, they run about 2 sizes large to accommodate thick socks.

Do not skip this step or you'll have blisters the size of Texas on your tootsies.

but constantly have to buy 2 or 3 sizes higher just to accommodate the width.

They are old school and the leather starts much like plastic.

This leaves an unfinished, sharp metal surface friction fit into the leather holes, which will pop out easily when the laces are tightened.

Additionally none of the exposed leather surfaces have been treated with a tragacanth gum and those ends will fray after a few uses.

Like with any leather boots, you have to wear them in, so expect rubbing in places.

If you aren't familiar with Vietnam era Jungle boots, these are not water proof.

Instead they feature a drain grommet in the sides that will push water out with every step.

Boots are very comfortable and flexible, been using them to hike around for a couple months and they still in good condition.

The canvas ankles allow for more movement than standard leather boots.

Since I had order these boots I surprised on how fast there were delivered since that was to be delivered on the 25th or 26th.

Anyway, I will enjoy putting these boots on when I can.

So to be clear, these are fantastic boots and there is a reason they stayed in services for 40 years  (or so).

but corners were cut during manufacturing
If you have feet that measure wider than the "4E" option many companies offer this boot does a pretty good job of handling your flippers.

Either way, the construction of the boot is overall very good.

The boots do have the updated "Panama" sole making it easier to slick mud out of the grooves by stomping on hard ground or with a stick.

I would like to give these boots at least 4 stars for their price and fit,

The ability to walk out moisture is great, and the ankle support when crossing rocky ground with a load is excellent.

I was carrying a load and the ankle support was nice too.

Once broken in, they are wonderfully comfortable.

UPDATE 2020 Aug: After using them about 1-2 hours almost daily since end of March they have now been a hole from the inside to the outside leather in the heel (not hole, see picture).

Apart from the crack between the sole and the boot in my first report it seems it is cuts all around like they cut wrong.

Unfortunately when I cleaned them today I saw there is a big crack between the sole and the leather!

The leather seems less sturdy than the ones from the PX 20 years ago,

For a work boot in warm climates, it's hard to beat unless you need a steel/plastic toe.

.. v The cordura upper they use  breathes better than the canvas the original had.

Quality made , worn around home for a couple of days After first trip to the American River boots broke in trek n along over trails n rocks I recommend these boots for hot summer they are comfortable and they dry quick

I wear a 11.5 in Reebok and ordered 10.5 in this boot and it fits perfect.

Boot gets the job done
Boot is well suited to trekking in Malaysia, where I live.

Two hours of break in after heel blister issue, and boots good to go thereafter, very confortable.

Nice to replace those.Cooler on my feet than my Danner Ft. Lewis 'Go devil' boots which I love.

Everything I expected from Altima jungle boots.

I like there is no padding/isolation on the shaft of the boot.

I checked the size on the boots and they were as ordered,

but these fit comfortably with with socks.

So if you are size 43 order size 43 since they seems to fit correctly.

They definitely got delivered alot faster than I had thought they would, they came as described, and fit as expected.

I bought these for my husband to shovel snow after abnormally heavy snowfall threatened to collapse the roofs in Tahoe.

My husband worked for several hours in the snow and confessed that they only worked for about half the time he was in the snow(several hours).

These boots are very comfortable and actually waterproof.

The shoe is a canvas type material and looks great with jeans that are folded above the ankle.

They really are ultra comfy and last forever!

He said they are comfortable for his long walks on campus, durable and the tread is really good for the ice and snow.

They are beautiful and comfortable and he LOVES them.

These shoes fit true to size and are extremely comfortable.

I’m a little heavier set and nowadays I want comfort over style and these are both fashionable and comfortable.

I wish they would bring back the model with the grey canvas uppers, they are stunning, i also love the suede finish models when i can find them.

The inner soles are super flat and hard like they forgot to add the insole so we had to buy that as well as new laces.

The outer soles feel cheap and not convincingly non-slip.

The sole could be more textured for better grip or made from different type/quality/process of material for the price.

but the slip part I am not sold on, as the bottoms seem slick with no traction.

I’m not sold on the price of these, I feel they are overpriced and time will tell how durable they will hold up.

These are much more comfortable than boots and you could wear them out and no one would know you were wearing anything

Steel toe shoe
First let me start off by stating these are not a boot like material, they are very very light and made of a canvas material like a converse type shoe.

Nice shoes
These shoes fit nicely, look great, are comfortable, and have a steel toe.

With that being said, they are very comfortable for a steel toe shoe.

but this pair is super comfortable and feel just like regular shoes.

Stylish Protective Shoes
These have a somewhat "urban" look, yet with steel toes and high tops, are both comfortable and protective. When I'm loading gear for my band, and working concerts, I want to protect my feet, yet not look like I'm wearing "boots."

These fit the bill, and are far lighter on my feet than construction site style boots.

Timberland Men's Larchmont Chelsea Boot

For these Timberland Larchmont Chelsea Leather Boots, they are very loose around angle (high and low) which makes them feel very loose in the heel.

I do not recommend as a boot for recreational activities or work wear, for which there are better options available from Timberland or other brands.

For the price point I would have expected they come with the timberland pro anti fatigue insoles my last chelseas had.

That said, these may be the most convenient and comfortable boots ive ever owned.

But the two biggest new pluses for me were - they never "sucked" my socks into the boots like my other chelsea boots sometimes do, and the bottom of my jeans never got caught on the little canvas loop at the back like it does with other boots, so the boots always stayed under the trouser legs.

Great boots
I got these for work boots and they work great for their intended purpose.

I have a couple pairs of Timerland slip-on boots and they hug my lower and upper angle well, which aids in securing my heel.

For me these are causal boots to wear with jeans, so they are comfortable and stable enough for that.

.and are very comfortable [comparing to other boots, not CROCS].

Having replaced the insoles for another $30 they don't feel quite as loose and are much more comfortable.

To be fair, I knew they would be comfortable and a good fit as I had tried them on in a store before ordering them.

however fit as expected so keep this in mind if you plan on wearing heavy or double pairs of socks.
