While wearing them: (1) the lower backs of the heels were scrunched or creased; (2) the inside fronts of the shoes toe-boxes pulled back against my toes leaving no clearance, no matter how far back on the insoles I first put my feet, and; (3) they did so even despite the insoles and soles in fact being long enough for my feet!?!?

It became obvious WHY these problems when I looked at the shoes side-on while not wearing them, I noticed that the heels were not angled 90-degrees to the sole

but instead angled forward about 45 degrees; and when I tried to stretch the shoes' upper heels backward, i.e.

Hence, the top of the shoes' heels angle forward when not on feet.

Hence the effective upper band from toebox to shoe heel dictates where the shoes end up on the feet - being too short vs the sole length, they - from bottom of Achilles' tendons, pull the shoe's toebox back into the wearer's toes.

And hence also the crease in the bottom of the shoes' heels when wearing them.

However, perplexingly the longer size was still too short.

Initial thought was that perhaps this shoe model is just intrinsically shorter than average and I might have to go yet another size up.

My opening comment was that I really 'wanted' (past tense) these shoes as I found them to be unusable.

Ok so for those of you who prefer to be barefoot or closer to I suggest you give these a try and see if they allow you that comfort you are looking for.

Potentially the perfect shoes for hiking, water sports, gym weight-training, etc., let alone general daily activities, and transitioning to natural bare feet.

I purchased a size up because there isn’t half sizes, I’m glade that I did, the fit was right on.

but not as much support
I ordered the Addiction for two reasons: 1) I couldn’t bring myself to pay $160 for the new Brooks Beast, but still wanted a shoe with a stronger, more supportive midsole than the typical sneakers popular today.

Not sure if that’s because they were new or because they weren’t as supportive as Beasts.

Initially I did not think they were really comfortable, they are not the most comfortable standing still because they are supportive at the heel, jogging trainers feel softer cushioned.

After receiving these shoes, I no longer believe in any benefit to buying shoes from a brick-and-mortar store, because there is no excuse for letting people throw money away on New Balance and Dunham when the Brooks Addiction Walker exists in the same size.

that was just a bit small, so returned for an 8.5.

though I've found I need a larger size than normal (I got 10.5 when I normally have 9.5-10).

but it wasn't enough to make me send it back and order something extra wide.

But recently MBT's changed the manufacture of their shoes, and the soles have developed a fault, after buying three pairs and the soles falling to bits at various stages post purchase, I decided I had to find a new brand.

After the first week with them, I threw all three pairs of New Balance that I had in the trash with that smug sense of satisfaction that you only find when overcoming an obstacle after years of wrestling with it, the kind that makes animated leprechauns jump in the air while clicking their heels together.

though my (effort exerted) for both items here would be equal because the Addiction Walker shoes make walking feel easier.

Durability The outside durability is decent and the soles will probably last about 2000miles of walking if not more (average shoe lasts me about 6 months which is about 500miles of walking).

I walk up to about an hour a day in the shoes on hard pavements and it seems to give reasonable shock absorption.

The difference in experience is as striking as going from walking barefoot to wearing sandals: you go from seeing some discomfort as inevitable to being very surprised in the rare occasions when it occurs.

They are well made and black leather looks quite smart I think, I wore them often in the evenings.

I now actually wear them all the time at home.

You heard me right, that single pair has lasted me through over three years of daily wear, and it's only the separation of the soles from the uppers that is prompting that because otherwise they still look fantastic and feel like clouds under my feet.

The first day I wore them I was actually uneasy with how much more natural they felt against my feet than any shoes I'd worn before, to the point that my gait changed a bit to what I now realize is how my body always wanted to move.

They check all the boxes for me, from having a broad toe box without looking too angular in front, to simply amazing tread and grip that has never once left me nearly losing footing or even slightly rolling an ankle no matter how rugged the terrain, to remaining as comfortable in the 16th hour of wear as they were when I put them on in the morning.

They are so light, such good quality and easily the comfiest shoes I have ever worn.

I wear them all the time, and will be buying them again for sure.

I can get by wearing it in the City with a suit as it's black leather.

The most impressive feature of the shoe is how comfortable it is when you're walking, especially on hard surfaces.

However, the benefit comes in these when you walk, they are very good for walking as they are supportive under the heal with plenty of cushion at the front as you roll forward.

The midsole passed my bend test, and they feel comfortable.

The comfort They are comfortable the standard width is quite wide so helps people who over pronate or have flat feet, the toe box is also nice and roomy.

If you suffer from any sort of foot problem causing discomfort, as I do, my bet is your feet will have a happy relationship with these shoes.

When I first opened the box and saw them, I thought they would be way too big in size.

I purchased the correct size for me and even wearing socks, they were far to big.

By the time I got them the clear plastic was all torn, and the mail carrier wasn’t any better by stuffing them in my small mailbox.

They fit slightly wider than my teen's Welltree cloud slides (also purchased on Amazon, same size as mine).

I wear a size 10.5 US mens shoe and bridge part over the top of the shoe grips pretty tightly.

but I would say they are only suitable for people whose feet are indisputably narrow, unless you want to to use one of the hacks to stretch them (like wearing thick socks in them after using a hair dryer to warm them up).

I was hesitant to buy these because of a few common complaints about cloud slides in general: squeaking when you walk, making your feet sweaty, and being uncomfortable due to friction.

But there seems to be something about how the rubber handles moisture, and they just get smelly after a few months.

Both of these observations have not prevented me from enjoying these slippers. They are super comfortable to walk on, or stand in (I work at a standing desk)

but because they are a suitable width for me I can generally wear them comfortably indoors with bare feet.


I like the slides, they are comfortable.

I have plantar fasciitis, and these shoes are very comfortable to wear.

They're really trendy and I feel cool wearing them, as opposed to house slippers.

It's somewhat trendy at the moment to wear all white ribbed crew socks that rise a couple of inches above the ankle with them, so your comfort can actually be considered stylish.

They have good grip for my hard floors and carpets and I like wearing them like house slippers and when I clean the house (especially the shower).


I really love these slippers, and wear them daily.

Uncomfortable in heel
Has stitching in heel, had to put padding.

The last cheap shoes (Sketchers) I bought I could barely walk without discomfort.

But the width was significantly snugger than I like, especially all around the sides a top of the foot.

It doesn't look like that on the photos and it;s hard to explain what I mean; the height of the back area did not come up to the bottom of the ankle like many shoes normally do, if it was any shorter it wold have been a clog you could slip your foot into like a Croc or something.

I do not like that the white shoe's size label on each shoe shows through the shoe's mesh material.

I love the soles on these shoes they remind me of the flexibility of 5 finger shoes when walking.

It's almost like being barefoot with extra padding under your feet.

The inner sole is comfortable and the shoes are easy to put on.
