Unisex-Adult On The Clock Clog, Slip Resistant Shoes for Women and Men

Now in a shoe like these On The Clocks, even with the small holes they do come with, a solid rubber bottom, or insert if that's what that is, is what I would understand to be a recipe for really irritably hot, sweaty soles, with or without socks!

And that excessive sweat is what can lead to the squaking, pardon my french, 'farty' sounds of a thoroughly drenched foot against the rubber bottom of such a shoe.

I would suspect that  most of the excessively 'hot n sweaty' and squeaky complaints are coming from wearers of that version, which I have yet to review.

After half a mile walking(four laps around the main axis of the mall), my feet were squeaking around in them, and my soles felt drenched in sweat.

but remember, your feet will likely sweat more in the fabric insert(original?)

After a few hours in the Crocs/Icelandic combination, when I remove the Crocs, the bottoms of the Icelandics are indeed warm and wet!

And I have to say that the "non-Literide" black fabric insert version is definitely the sweatier of the two versions.

But because it was annoying me, I purchased several different insoles in various styles - I believe all of them being Dr. Scholl's, and all of them claiming to be for people who spent a lot of time on their feet every day.

I could have bought an entirely new pair of these Crocs, even at full price on their website (this pair is much cheaper here, for some reason) for the price I paid for all of those insoles, and know they would have lasted for a couple of years!

but a solid tough shape with very little height inside, need very flat feet with low or no arches, I have to wear very thin socks to get my feet in and risk occasionally on very busy days developing large blisters on the very top of my foot as the bone and plastic are so close the skin is trapped and rubbing so blisters are a risk if your feet have arches, would recommend looking for something else or go a size bigger and find something super heavy and hope it can help squash it on the sides to give extra height inside, if you have no arches to the bones in your foot and everything is flat to the floor then these are perfect for you.

but I will list them: -For one, though they were incredibly long lasting insoles, and I do acknowledge that I could have purchased an entirely new pair of shoes that included them for less money than I spent on the pile of garbage-quality Dr. Scholl's insoles, the part of me that hates waste doesn't really appreciate having to buy an entirely new pair of shoes just for the insoles!

I wore them my entire first year hoping they just needed “breaking in.” But they didn’t get better.

though this might have to do more with my individual physique than with the product:  A slightly tighter fit between the inside tops of my feet and the shoes, especially when wearing thicker than average thickness socks.

but since I'm wearing these for practically every occasion now, it would be nice if they could even reasonably pass for something a little bit classier than my job.

but I've twisted my ankle several times while wearing them, so they are more of a hazard than a less supportive shoe would be in the first place.

Plus, the fact that they're made by one of my favorite brands, Crocs, is just the cherry on top.

Comfortable for Work n Play - But There Are TWO Versions of Crocs On The Clock Clogs!

I also own Crocs Lite Ride sandals, and can say that Crocs does know 'a thing or two' about orthotic support ergonomics.

**Update - 2023-March** My two pair of Crocs On-the-Clocks, the regular/originals and the ones with LiteRide insert, are so laid back, semi-formal, and easy to wear that I often just put one pair on or the other without thinking too much about it.

I guess the fact that these Crocs do keep feet so warm, with or without socks, is a plus in New England or the Northwest, where sub-freezing temperatures are a regular winter guest. So  yes, you can wear either version of On-The-Clocks work clogs without socks,

Crocs is one of the only companies these days that does what all quality companies used to be proud of: create a product that actually lasts the test of time.

I have never had a problem with any pair of Crocs that they did not handle if I contacted them - even if I bought them from a third party!

Crocs is just an amazing company, full-stop.

I long ago stopped caring that Crocs are ugly, when they single-handedly saved me from foot surgery!

You can see in the picture that the ruggedness of the tread is still going strong! Though it's true that my Classic Crocs have also put up with carrying my not-insignificant body weight year-after-year, it's not just the Croc shoes themselves that have held up this time,

They're incredibly comfortable and slip-resistant, which is a must for me since I wear them to work.

Overall, for under U.S. $50, they are a relatively light, comfortable, and supportive shoe for, as they are named, on the clock at work, or at home or out on the town.

Even as I arrived at the mall, my feet already felt quite warm in them, and a little damp, even thogh it was only a few degress above freezing outdoors.

The shoes were so narrow I couldn’t get my foot in all the way.

An update - I did finally get the smell to go away (it took weeks and trying a lot of different things)  and am now wearing these shoes.

They have now been out of the box for over a week, worn once, and they still smell so bad I am afraid other people may pick up the smell when I wear them.
