Downfall is they aren't as warm as I had hoped in the snow and they are not water proof at all.

If I am working in the snow or waters edge my feet will get soaked.

Of course it does not have the feel of a custom made boot, the foot bed is generic, not quite the arch support that I would prefer,

but nothing that a store bought inner sole won't cure.

I've been wearing editions of this boot since about 1980 (still have and wear the original pair for yard work), and terminally wore out the third pair this winter (leather cracked through).

After 9 months of heavy use, the boots are obviously well broken in and are the most comfortable I've ever had.

I have no doubt that these boots will last 5 years with this continued type of use and care.

This helped the back of the Achilles to avoid a blister, yet after a few days of soaking in mink oil the boots were very soft.

If you take the time to care for these boots you will love them!
