Some things that I appreciate more about my Rocky C4's is the leather tongue and leather upper, the minimalist tongue on these Tachyon's tend to crumple up, and the laces can annoy the top of your foot and at the bottom of your calf if the laces are too tight.

CONS: 1) The tachyon 8 boots have perhaps less ankle support than some would expect from an 8" boot,

I had a pair of ROCKY C4 Trainers for 3 years and loved them, thought I'd give the Danner Tachyons a try.

If your looking for a light comfortable/durable boot I think you'll be happy with the Danner Tachyon 8's

Awesome lightweight boot
These are fantastic boots if you're looking for something lightweight to move fast in.

Unlike some other lightweight combat boots, the sole is thick enough that you won't feel rocks or gravel poking your feet.

Pros -Extremely lightweight -Thick enough sole with great traction -Breathable compared to most combat boots -I think they look good I would say cons

As far as the pros and cons I will try to list some off the top of my head: PROS: 1) Very Comfortable (if correct size) 2) Very Lightweight and can be used for extensive walking about/ staying on your feet 3) Very mobile and athletic feeling.

You will not regret hiking all day in this airy light boot.

Out of the box these things are really light and the sole of the boots are really comfortable, they almost feel like a thin layer of memory foam.

but will be a bit more tactical down range and I feel confident that these boots will hold up in the field.

I am a Special Tactics wash out and know what tough training is, I would feel confident that these boots would do well in a purely field environment (Good tread on sole, and drain ports on the inside for quick drying).

I would highly recommend these over the Nike boots as I've seen the Nike's fall apart time and time again, and they don't make the Rocky C5's in sage green.

but they were out of stock so I decided to try these, but they appear to ru a little narrow.

A good fit
The boots looked great and I have worn Danner Prong horn for years,

Bottom line if your looking for a comfortable light weight breathable early season boot I believe Danner nailed this one.

But they are crazy comfortable, and crazy lightweight.

I only say this because I can't believe how light weight they are.

These boots fit almost perfectly right out of the box.

These boots are decently breathable and yes my feet sweat (since I was in the blazing sun)

but the sweat didn't pool as much as I've experienced in other boots.

As soon as the spray wore off these boots would soak with almost any water.

And the laces stayed tied, all day, unlike my other boots from Lacrosse and Wolverine.

The boots have proved to be water proof when stepping in low places,

Ultra light boots, Super comfortable, and Breath well.

Was impressed and believe they will make great early season mountain or Great Plains hunting boots.

The padding is comfortable and the ankle support is really nice.

Pleasantly surprised at the comfort.

Comfortable throughout the day giving me the same foot support comfort at the end of the day as at the beginning.

After wearing eight hours there was no binding at the ankle, the foot bed supported well.

Globe Men's Pulse Evo Skate Shoe

I've been wearing Adidas Busenitzs for the past couple yrs and the toe box is super narrow so it may just be me.

I would consider these a narrow long shoe so if you have wide feet expect discomfort.

These definitely fit small so go up a half to full size from your norm when ordering.

This new design offers less cushion in the tongue and sides so the 14s are too big yet the 13s are too small.

They didn’t fit like the old Globe Pulses which used to be my go to shoe for the past decade.

These fit so nicely…they’re the perfect amount of snug around the feet and they’re so comfortable inside and they look tight…may be the best pair of skate shoes I’ve ever owned

but was able to get them again and still just as comfortable no foot pain like in 2017-2018 when I could not get them.

The sole is not 100% oil/slip resistance, so be careful.

Awesome alternative to heavy safety boots
Lightweight and comfortable for all day wear.

I work production at a brewery and they are super comfortable and light weight.

I have about two miles on these shoes and they fit and form as expected.

These are the lightest I have ever tried on, they fit very well, provide great support, and they even look great.

Within one day I can say these are the best work shoes I have ever worn.

These boots seem to run about a size too big I have a size 14.5 foot

but size 15 boot was at least a size too big.

These boots simply aren't rigid enough to offer much ankle support.

If you need ankle support and intend to really work hard in your boots, these might not be the best option ? ?

EE width didn't seem particularly wide though.

I have to admit the synthetic soles don't really sound like "boots" when you're walking on a hard surface.

My best boots to date were Danner Sharptail’s.

These fit my son perfectly.

They are lightweight and he can wear them all day with no complaints.

Used as work boots, these are holding up so far to a lot of abuse(brushwork, log splitting, and climbing).

The cushion is great and it feels like I have a spring in my step when I walk in these boots.

I’ve gotten lots of compliments from coworkers that notice these boots.

That's partly why these boots feel so good right away.

I will say they were about a size too big

The tread is starting to wear tho especially at the hell.

but that wasn't the issue, there was no padding where the top of your foot meets the boot and was uncomfortable.

Perfect boots for everyday in cold weather

One of the synthetic straps on the side started coming off.

I broke one untying my boots after wearing them for two months.

They should have come with real boot laces.

but the tongue and metal loops for the laces made it uncomfortable.

There is a thick stitching and metal loop right where my ankle bends causing lots of discomfort.

Danners, well these were uncomfortable because of the stitching in the tongue causing a bad rub on the ankle.

I did have to return the first pair and go a half size bigger.

He has spent from $50-$350 on boots that he cannot tolerate because they make his feet hot (thankfully we have the same shoe size now and I got a lot of boots he had worn a day or two and could not return).

I had to exchange boots 3 times (and switch to a different brand and model) to get a good fit.

They fit smaller than I expected, I wear a ladies 9-regular width, and I ended up with an 8-D and they're perfect.

Don't buy these shoes (read further for several poor fit issues)
Great boots if you have a D width as the EE's and EEEE's are also the same D width.

I just liked the concept of a ventilated boot and Danner is my favorite bootmaker, because their sizing seems to fit perfectly.

If you just want my opinion quick so you can buy them and get on with your life; here it is- These boots are the best boots I have ever owned, and I've owned my fair share of boots.

I have owned these boots for almost a year now and I have loved every day wearing them.

My mother called a few days later and much to our surprise she said that it's the most excited she has ever seen him regarding a boot or any clothing.

I've had plantar fasciitis issues for years and was getting ready for a trip that was to involve miles of walking and some wet terrain, so I decided to give Danner a try and so glad I did.
