The shoestrings are too long, so I am going to replace them

but lacing the boot up makes the top of the boot look a little awkward to me.

It is too light, there is no leather feel and smell when you wear them.

But in fairness you would really think they are 100% leather just dont carry or wear them.

however the "leather" upper of the boot is sub-par.

Looking at the picture and the description of the product you would really think that it is the nice leather boots that you are wanting to have. Lol.

I have been looking for wingtip boots for ever and finally found them.

The sole, which I thought I would hate given the material, it's actually great because it keeps the boot light in weight and easy and comfortable for me to walk around in for hours.

These are excellent.

Will last me years compared to almost every other boot I've bought in the past that only last one winter if that.

They get more comfortable as you wear them.

Cheaper laces than before / Odd sizing
I bought these for a second time, 1 year later, which is about how long mine lasted before splitting near the front.

But anyways, what really irks me is that my new ones have significantly cheaper laces.

I hate this, because the laces don't hold the shape I want while tying, which means manually holding the laces that much more while I tie, as opposed to some of the work being offset by thicker laces getting snug on the eyelets.

So they clearly cheapened out on the laces.

SR Max should consider upgrading the laces before selling and stitching the soles in addition to gluing and we'd have a true winner. P.S.

Honestly, I am upset about the laces being downgraded from my pair a year ago.

If they could do one thing better it would be to use real stitching all the way around the sole instead of just glue.

But bear in mind, Timberland does not make the non-slip soles for these boots.

The lack of a stitching on the sole could be SR Max's decision.

I don't know why more of the big name brands don't issue shoes with proper non-slip soles (like SR Max soles).

but they are not comfortable at all; no foam or padding inside).

Use these boots for motorcycle riding, they are great and comfortable for riding and walking around.

This is probably the best real non-slip boot you can buy right now if you need actual, real non-slip boots and not just the ones claiming to be.

I’ve found that I need to wear some pretty thick socks when wearing these, or else I tend to have blisters on the soles of my feet.

The tops of the shoes are also showing some serious signs of wear.

but no they did not mold to my feet and get comfortable, I just caused foot pain for weeks, and should have put insoles in them instead.

the putting on / taking off process was an absolute pain, i don’t even have particularly wide feet or a high instep so i assume mostly everyone has this issue with this specific boot?

I probably wouldn’t buy them again for work shoes,

when i took my foot out and compared my blow dried boot the the one i hadn’t done yet you could see around the ankle area it loosened up and was a bit wider.

They are as comfortable as Dr. Martens can be, and for narrow feet, a size down is definitely worth the shot.

i did that all over the ankle area for about 5 mins each, i was able to slide my foot down a tiny bit more and more without pain as they were being heated.

but soon as they’re comfortable they are amazing.

these turned out to be my favorite & most comfortable docs!

I ordered these Doc Marten's in the navy size 7 women's and am having difficulty breaking these in.

I got both of these boots in women's size 7 and they are a little large

but I realize these don't come in half sizes.

As to the stiffness in the navy Doc's, I will take them to a shoe repair and see if they can soften the leather or sell me some type of padding to put on whenever I wear them.

Recipient was happy with the fit and look of the shoe, even before break-in.

but the day after I bought them I walked about 10K in them, and while my feet were sore (as you'd expect) they weren't bleeding, red or blistered.

However, all around wonderful purchase and I have yet to be disappointed by Doc Martens.

The leather on the cherry red boots is very supple and flexible.

I love the way they look and they are very reliable, sturdy boots.

I wore this type of boot through high school and loved them.

In fact, be prepared to buy some good insoles because the stock shoe just feels like standing on a wood floor.

But if you're prone to ankle blisters from the backs of stiff shoes, you're going to need to pad these.

They shredded one of my ankles until I thought to put mole foam around the back of the opening.

I'm giving these five stars because they're great looking, they fit well, and I just really like them.

I wear 11 & 11.5 mens in Nikes..these 10UK fit perfect.

However be aware that they run quite small.

I gave it a shot, and sure enough, the shoes were too small - size 42.

I'm usually a 11.5W or 12, and I had to return a pair of Panama Jack Men's Casual Oxford in size 12 to get this pair in 13.

I asked the seller how to convert the size (I mentioned I wanted a Euro size 43 - as I have owned another pair of these shoes before), and the only response was "It depends on how thick your socks are." Really?

I returned the shoes and bought them from Arthur Knight's website, in the UK.

It's much more wearable than all the Dr Martens I tried and had to return. Recommended.

I'll keep them because it's been so hard to get a size of anything in this class of shoe that actually fits well.

Regardless, using a shoe stretcher and just normal wear, they fit quite nicely after a week or so.
