Quality of sole is lacking
Purchased this product in November, looked at the sole this morning to find a large crack that ran from the left side of the right boot all the way to the other side.

Will not purchase again if they cannot hold up to a little bit of walking in them without cracking.

Very stiff, I probably will not buy this boot again .

The boot is been built with good materials and it is slip resistant and couldn't test oil resistance.

I was not expecting a pair of size men’s 12 steel toe boots to be in such a small box.

I searched high and low for my husband some comfortable shoes for working in a warehouse.

He says these are so comfortable and definitely recommends these.

They are comfortable once you get them on and stretch them a bit.

They are a narrower shape than the Rockfly and I thought they didn’t fit.

but these are not waterproof and so get wet walking in dew covered grass.

Have since walked with them in the wet grass and feet stay dry!

When I tightened the laces properly, my heel was pulled into the shoe and the fit was snug.

They only has EEEE and the heel is a bit too wide.

but the Eddie Bauer boot did not fit correctly; either too big or too small--probably because a wide width was not available.

New Balance does run a little narrower than most USA brands,

A few notes: 1) not as wide as many 4E's,

If you struggle with 4E width being slightly narrow, these might not be the right choice.

I wear out a pair of Walmart boots about every 6 months and wasn't really surprised when they started coming out of the box ill-fitting.

All of the above is to say these are the slipperiest shoes I have possibly ever worn; far worse than the Asics or any of the hiking boot/shoes.

the left ones seem to run about a 1/4 size too small and one of the right ones fit well

It truly takes the joy out of hiking when you are not able to take regular strides because you are worried about slipping and then, you slip anyway.

left and right shoes do not feel the same size and visually lack symmetry.

If I get my pair wet, they dry out fairly quickly.

I would buy them again, based on the limited selection in 12 4E, provided I was buying a lightweight duty/hiking boot.

I buy New Balance shoes because they come in a wide width.

Like other New Balance Shoes, I am very happy with this shoe.

but that does not diminish my like and endorsement of this New Balance hiking shoe.

Anyway, I gladly paid more for the New Balance shoe because it fits correctly and my experience and opinion is that New Balance makes a superior product.

I have had many different hiking boots (Vasque Monolith, Keen Utility Flint, Dunham Cloud, Carhartt CMH4375, Merrell Moab and Moab 2) and all of them are far superior to regular trainers for traction when hiking.

In less than 2 months there was a Crack on the rubber upper that meets the seal of the sole.

These boots held up for six months before they began to show signs of cracking (mainly around the area were the toes and ball of the foot meet) and the right one began to let water in through the bottom.

Buyers BEWARE - Read first
Though boot the comfortable and easy to get in and out of it, does not last long at ALL!

He used these boots minimally and in less than two months these boots took on water from the cracked seal!

Overall disappointed with quality of boot and customer care - spend your money on a better product with better care for their loyal customers.
