I only wore them a couple of times, walking around the neighborhood, and never felt secure enough to run, unless I was walking on super flat grass covered in a small layer of 2-days old snow.

Apart from that, they are very comfortable (I wear regular Peregrines for trail running most of the year), keep your feet super warm (in a good way) and dry.

I usually buy New Balance trail running shoes for daily wear.

The shop shoes have lost most of their tread and are a little slick when the ground is wet,

I have my daily pair, which are two years old and still going strong (I even put them through the washer and dryer to clean them); I have a second pair than became my shop shoes about five years ago and still work fine; and I have a third pair that are my gardening shoes that are about eight years old.

That said, I've always had great success with New Balance trail runners (400 and 500 series).

Wet shoes and wet socks do not go well for long hikes causing blisters.

These are excellent for keeping your feet dry.

The v-shape treads give a good attach for grip on trail running.

Excellent Waterproof hiking shoes on the AT
I wore these shoes hiking 48 miles of the Appalachian Trail.

They also look really cool and have become my daily wears.
