Most uncomfortable oxford I've ever worn; ended up donating
I purchased my usual size (9M) and found them to be very narrow.

The built in arch support was too far forward for me, and made it not possible to wear with my usual arch support insoles.

Seriously the most uncomfortable oxford I've ever worn.

My conscience wouldn't let me return them after having worn them enough to crease the top, so I ended up donating them.

For one thing, it's hard to find a reasonably priced shoe made of leather, which is so much nicer and more breathable.

If you have narrow feet, you might be disappointed.

I am 99.999% certain the sole is glued on instead of the vulcanized sole the USGI boots have.

The harder USGI soles slip a lot on smooth wet rocks.

Each boot has two drainage ports that are probably aluminum or plastic instead of brass.

It feels like the boot is made of plastic and around week two the outer fabric started peeling off.

Been wearing these for a while now, and through mud, rugged terrain, and even on a motorcycle they are durable and comfortable.

The new pair the Velcro is not fully sound, and has started to fall off after three weeks of wearing.

Some days when I forget to adjust the tongue prior to zipping up and lacing up, I would have the tongue rub into my shin.

Back of the left boot failed and then both zippers.

Back of the left boot failed and just a few weeks later the zippers on both boots broke.

even though the laces broke in less than six months (laces brake, thats okay) and the rubber on the back of the boots broke open in less than three months I ordered another set and got them today.

I previously laced from the in side out and couldn't keep the boots snug, the bungee kept getting lose.

Would love it if the manufacturer would use a mesh inside the rubber that keeps tearing as thus would limit how far it could stretch and likely prevent the tear from happening.

though it looks like I am just lucky and the rubber on back of the right boot keeps ripping open starting at the seam.

So I am in the process of returning them.

I returned and in a few days, Bates sent me a replacement right away.

Very durable
Worn mostly daily for work and on off days.

Just like most boots I would use in the winter, I spray them with Scotchguard for suede and leather and so  far no leaks or excessive damage to the suede from sidewalk salt.

Long lasting
I really like these boots, wore them when I was working and now in retirement!

I tested these boots at minus10 Celsius with thin Heat Gear summer UA socks, these boots were very warm and wearing wool socks were too hot.

With the amount of walking, running and other activities, on both concrete, snow and flooring, the soles show no excessive wear and the Anti slip works fairly well on wet floors and excellent in slush and ice.

LACES: To help me stay awake when driving I don't wear shoes.

Even with this dilemma I plan on buying these boots again.

I ordered size 14, got size 14, and they fit perfectly.
