I already own a pair of Chaco sandals, love them, and have worn them everywhere — hiking in all kinds of terrain and walking many miles through the city.

Overall, I love this shoe and look forward to many more hikes in them.

Ive bought these for years and never had an issue.

The last 2 pairs i have bought have started to fall apart on me within a month.

What is not so good is the durability, if you wear them a lot, be prepared to buy a new pair once or even twice a year!

Also, with this order, which was for a blue, size 13 voyageur, I received a brown size 13 Targee III.

I found these to be comfortable right out of the box.

They are the most comfortable, wide feet fitting shoes I know.

Firstly the laces are to short making them a little hard to fasten and no chance of doing a double bow.

Second issue is the metal lace holes, the edges are quite sharp, meaning after only a few weeks they are cutting into the laces which will need replacing soon.

The Archfit logo / patch located on the tongue of the shoe is VERY thick.

So thick as to make lacing the shoe strange, as the laces don't like to criss-cross properly on this.

And when you put the shoe on, the laces press this rigid rubber patch down on the top of your foot, so you feel it when walking in them.

I am not sure why the laces are so short, if you go through every eyelet they are not long enough to really tie the shoe.

Even skipping some eyelets I can't seem to avoid the patch as the top row of eyelets mean the final lace goes across the top of this patch, there is not enough room above the patch and still on the tongue to have the laces not on top of, or pushing down on this patch.

However, the metal eyelets shred the shoe laces.

The shoes are kind of heavy so beware.

but that make the sole of the shoe quite stiff.

The break in period seems to be a little long, I wore these as my daily show for a month and they were still a bit on the stiff side.

Also the foot bed is very firm, not mushy or soft like some shoes.

These Men's Skechers Arch Fit Recon Harbin shoes are the best all around hiking shoes I've bought in the past 20 years (I had settled for LL Bean for years) .

They are very high quality with long wearing GoodYear rubber soles, great true fit (size 9), and are extremely comfortable for all day trail hiking.

Nice and comfortable and don’t look too oap like a lot of sketchers!

The shoe was close to comfortable, had to take a hair drier to the toe box to stretch out, a tennis ball stuffed into the toe of a show and then heat it up with a drier.


I ordered a 13 and I’m a 12 and they ft well.

I like them so much that I bought three more pair (two black and one grey) to hold in reserve for if/when my first set eventually wears out.

The Archfit insole is why I buy Skechers.

After reading some of the other reviews and owning a pair of insulated snake boots by the same company I decided to go with a little longer boot in the wide.

These boots run smaller in the width than other boots do.

Fit was a little tight and narrow at first


This model is vastly narrower than the 600gr insulated ones, I even went a half size bigger in case.

Fit is a little bit on the small side, I had to return and reorder

They fit a little small so make sure to size them correctly.

the seem is bunched together creating a spot inside the boot that rubbs against the inside of your ankle right under the ball bone it literally kills to where these boots even for just a hour or 2 of walking around will rub your ankle so bad that it feels like a nail is rubbing on your ankle it is not a defect

The bottoms are firm enough to handle the rocks,

They are perfect for hiking on rough rocky land.

but flexible enough to make long hikes comfortable.

Irish Setter has been my “go to” boot for years.

I own the Elk tracker 600 G thinsulate winter version of these boots and they are exellent.

This style Crocs All Terrain is the best I’ve found because they are firm in the sole and not quite as squishy.

But he loves them.. no problem running or climbing in them and no concerns abt them getting wet.
