2) current model does not use the better quality braided shoe laces, leather laces were provided.

My only issues is that one of the laces broke the second time that I tied it.

The new laces seem heavier, so maybe new heavier laces to begin with.

I might not mind so much if the laces were one solid color

So maybe a thinner lace or one that lays flatter than a twisting leather look.

And 99% because I have to tie and untie them to get them on and off and me being overweight isn’t any fault from the  manufacturer.

I mention this only because I bought them at a size that was about a quarter size too big.

Being the great leather that they are, maybe I should have bought the 1/4 size down and let them break in and be the glove like fit I’m sure they would be.

Again, It’s not that they fit so tight they feel uncomfortable.

but they fit well and are pretty comfortable for boat shoes.

but when they broke in they fit like a glove.

These don’t hurt and already fit very comfortably.

As a matter of fact, they fit so well I do have to untie them to get them on and off.

In my opinion if your looking for an awesome shoe that fits well, is well made and looks great, my wife agrees, and are very very comfortable to stank and walk in…… spend the money….. they are worth it.

The have some nice cushion to the bottom of the inside and were quite nice when standing, yet not spongy when walking.

The originals, once they are broken in and have been washed or soaked once, become a second skin that you forget about, and they can keep  you as cool as a pair of flip-flops due to the rough grain of the leather inside.

The beautiful soft hide interior with the memory foam underneath can stick to damp feet.

No harm done, and then all you smell inside is new leather.

I don't like my feet to be bare or "unprotected" by SOME covering, even when at home, and I find clog style, heel-less footwear uncomfortable, like they'll too easily come off my feet.
