Waterproof boots are just too hot and don't breath enough for warm weather.

Ironically waterproof boots make your feet wet from sweat.

I think this is because on the Targhee there is a hard plastic strip that runs along both sides of the outside of the shoe and does not allow this area to splay or stretch when your foot is in the boot.

Voyageur had better laces that are “wave” construction instead of smooth like Targhee.

but they run about half a size small so I had to return the first pair I ordered.

but then sometimes my foot slides around because the only part of my foot that is “wide” is forefoot etc.

They are the first high top hiking boots I've purchased from Keen, and are very comfortable.

However I do get more padding and support from my Merrell hiking boots.

They definitely are better than my Colombia boots, in both durability and quality.

I order the same boots as they are my favourite.

Left is new Voyageurs, right is new Targhees.

The boots I did buy were from a competitor and they did the job too well.

but I still don't know of any boots that would have held up as long as they did without some deterioration.

Keen shoes have reliably for my size 15 foot for years.

Comfortable from the moment you put them on.

Soooo comfortable
On the first day I got these I wore them for 14 hrs straight and it was like walking around in sneakers.

Again, super comfortable right out of the box!

The Targhee sole & underfoot does appear more comfortable.

But they were comfortable, sturdy and delivered exactly what I was looking for.

I was going to write about my world travels, hiking the Himalayas, crossing rivers in Africa in search of the perfect picture of cape buffalo, how many miles I’ve tracked, how they’re not waterproof when the water dumps in over the top of the boots. Duh.

Have a narrow foot so the B width fits like a glove.

I ordered 3 different brands of boots, all claiming to be waterproof and tested them using the sophisticated and scientific "submerge-boot-to-a-depth-of-3in-in-a-bucket-of-water-for-1-min" test and this was the only one that remained dry.

The leather upper gives this boot a classic and different look from the other two, which I happen to like.

These are well made and extremely comfortable.

I was initially pleased with these hiking boots, mainly due to them being available in a wide fitting.

Very impressed and relieved that I have found a boot that actually fits well


Good fit for a wide foot and generally no issues comfort wise.
