Normally I go through about two-three shoes a year because the stitching breaks, the soles pull apart from the shoes body, and/or  the laces rip off.

Mine started tearing down towards the end of my first season, mostly just fraying of the cam fabric.

I did some summer wrestling after that and by time I was done with that; they have had several spots on the sole where the rubber traction was chipping.

About halfway through my second season with them, the soles had a tear through them and rubber was chipping off like crazy.

but they are extremely tight on my feet and one spot in particular (where the base of the tongue attaches to the shoe - at the bottom of the laces) really puts a lot of pressure on my foot - to the point of pain.

but if I still feel that pain after that I am returning them to ASICS under warranty as defective.

BTW these have horrible traction on sweaty mats for about 1 month or untill you break them in.

The sole is flat to the ground with very little give, so the shoe is very balanced.

but these lived up to their expectations; they fit well, are stable in the ankle and have good grip on the soles.

The high top strap keeps the shoe very snug and stable.

My son loves this pair of shoes using them for practice everyday, comfortable and well made

They are very comfy, even when wearing around a tournament all day.

but it was made up for in terms of proper packaging and the super softness of the shoes.

Have used them for two days now and have no blisters, in fact when wearing them it feels like I'm not wearing them at all - super snug, extremely light and the build quality is top notch.

I just received these today, so I haven't had a chance to try them on the mat, and that's the only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars.

I had Asics in high school and know them to be reliable, these looked cool and were on sale, so I gave them a shot.

They look cool, which is obviously half the game,

Nike for example run very narrow and just aren't an option for me.

Unfortunately shoemakers refuse to recognize women with foot widths over 3".

Seriously, these don't look like "wide" shoes at all, I wish I'd gotten the "normal" B width to compare.

The toe box of the shoe is too narrow, while the heel/opening is gargantuan.

It's not too narrow, it's just not glued down so it seems like it might keep coming out every time I take the shoe on and off.

The toe box is too narrow for the rest of my digits too.

at wide widths, and potentially no standardization of sizes, just like clothes.

But now I hate wearing regular shoes anymore with all the extra padding.

Also, the insole seems to be floating in the shoe.

Also less padded around the shoe opening than #1.

So it's not the pressure from the top or side that is irritating it, it's the lip of the shoe insert.

Pair 4: Asics Gel Unifire 7.5 D. These are also a joke.

I've also ordered from Zappos the Asics Gel 180 in 2E for women and the Asics Gel Acclaim in 2E for men. I think the biggest problem is Amazon's lack of selection (not even color-wise, just pure options!)

Also, the box mentions running, which is not what I'm interested in.

The minimus shoe does not have arch support and are like walking around without shoes on all day.

New to weight lifting shoes
These shoes don't provide arch support because they aren't supposed to for weight-lifting shoes.

I wouldn't use the shoe for any exercise requiring constant flexion of the foot, such as treadmill running, stair climbing, or elliptical due to the issue with the back of the shoe.

The shoes are very light weight and the soles are flat and thin as expected to allow for as much contact as possible to the floor to provide a stable base.

Ah, super lightweight, not a lot of seams, narrower heel for sure.

I usually only buy new balance because they are a little wider and fit my feet better than any other brand.
