The Good: These have DECENT arch support.

These sandals (I have tried many, many different sandals) have great arch support.

When I said, I can't live without them, it is because, from the ground up, the sandals adjust and cushion the feet and have great arch support.

Oh, by the way my foot doctor told me these sandals my help because the arch support is very good.

Spenco are the only brand sandal I can still wear for very long without arch pain since I've found out I have plantar fasciitis.

I swear by these flip flops, I wear them around the house year round and outside weather permitting.

However, it was immediately clear upon first trying on this pair that the size 11 was too big -- not only was there a lot of excess space at the back of the heel cup,

I bought a pair of Spenco's 3 years ago which have full cork removable insoles.


These have been great for my summer of rehab from hip surgery when my feet kept changing sizes.

Adjustable, pretty good arch support
Good quality, slip on / slip off, adjustable, good arch support.

but these were just enough support in the arch to allow me to be a sandal wearer again without so much pain.

The cork insole feels great on my feet and the curve of it with the arch support, well, it feels like it was custom made for my feet.

Now that I have the correct size, the past couple of days of use suggest that these may well help provide the arch support I need, which I hope will help to resolve my plantar fasciitis issues.

I have never had a more comfortable pair of flops.

I put these on, and from the first slip of my foot into the sandal, it was one of the most comfortable shoes/sandals/slippers I have had.

The shoes are still comfortable -- I wear them for at least an hour or so every day -- and as I don't wear them outdoors, I haven't had any issues with keeping them clean.

They have been great and I wore them daily in the spring, summer.

but it's worth it as I am still wearing my first pair which I brought it more than 5 years ago in one of the shops here.

These are good looking enough that you could wear them on errands.

But they fit well and my feet do not move around in them.

I've since ordered and received a size 10, and these fit my size 10.5 foot perfectly.

Well, I went to the beach with them, so when I came back I washed em and put them in the sun to dry…the next day when I took em from outside to wear them, they were about two sizes smaller.

Too bad they came in a bit undersized and then shrunk in the sun even more; btw mom’s a size 10!

It does take some getting used to since there’s a rocking sensation when you first start wearing em; you feel as though you can rock back and forth since the middle of the sandals are higher,

Great flip flop for someone who needs the arch support

but there is enough cusion "at right places" The arch supports my extremely flat feet and over all it is helping in reducing heal pain.

The leather on these shoes was very stiff an cut into my foot, right at the foot joint below my big toe.

The previous model had a lower rounded heel area that fit comfortably.

Use paraffin wax for the squeaking
For the squeak, remove the inside foot bed (insole).

Take paraffin wax (buy from grocery store in the food canning section) and rub it all around the front and back edges of insole, plus the UNDERSIDE near toes and back heel.

Put insole back in, might have to bend it a little because there's a groove it all has to fit into.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I wish they had a more aggressive tread on the sole.

Excellent quality, comfortable arch support
I have high arches and arthritis in both feet and additionally, a little less than a year ago I had foot surgery.

but I expect as the leather loosens and stretches that will get better--they are not uncomfortable to wear even now.

A little too small
Shoes were a little too small and narrow.

The color wasn't exactly what I expected and the shoes were slightly too short and narrow so I'm returning them.

Too snug compared to other 6 wide shoes I buy from New Balance.

More narrow than I remember New Balance toe box to be.

but my usual size 8.5 wide woman’s does not fit my foot.

Unfortunately a wide width is hard to find in store.

The newer 'running' shoes were getting to be a joke, I purchased two brands including New Balance, both had thinner soles, narrow tongues and poor collar and other padding, when compared with the older versions that were no longer available.

I ordered a wide and the toe box was smaller than normal.

If you definitely need a wide, you may not want to order these shoes.

I know that the time to return them is up

but I should’ve waited till I got home from vacation to order them because I just got back on Friday and tried them on they don’t fit I don’t know if there’s anyway that you would take them back but I saw no place where I could ask questions about returning

Not very comfortable in the beginning until broken in.

They put a lot of pressure on my big toes in particular which was not comfortable at all.

They aren't the most comfortable New Balance shoes I've ever worn,

These provide the arch support that I need to alleviate my back pain!

I have since been able to wear my New Balance cross trainers and my orthotics walking everyday with no pain in my feet.

but still soft enough to not hurt where it was injured.

New Balance still my best and favorite shoe for toebox size.

I bought and am very pleased with my regular size of 8W.

The length of this shoe is exactly what I expected for the size I ordered.
