but they’re really meant for heavy snow and bitter cold weather (they’re supposed to keep you warm in -25 degree weather) and have waterproof soles, so they weight is something you’ll get used too.

The WeatherProof have a warm Sherpa lining and thick felt footbed.

Maybe it's because they are warm, waterproof, and durable.

I tried for two days to wear them, and they felt like huge, clomping, heavy, hard, wooden boots, the tops of my toes & arch of my foot hurt from lifting my feet to walk.
