however, these are a gift to my son for his birthday and it’s a bit embarrassing to pass these off as new when the box is so tore up.

With these, I don’t feel as if the arch lines up well, so my feet feel pressure in unwanted spots, and then get sore really quickly.

You just may run into similar issues with the arch.

I bought these as I needed something close to a black dress boot.

The only problem I found is that, even the toe box is wide as promised, and so is the shaft, the ankle part is a bit narrow for my particular condition.

Plus even with the zipper up the side, they are still too tight to pull on.

There's another issue with the zipper, it tends to get stucked when it gets to the strap.
