I bought these for hiking in Scotland and they were amazing!

And the Waterproofing was adequate for hikes that involved some splashing through shallow creeks.

Moral of the story for me: narrow feet= good winter hiker with cushiony/layered socks.

Durable Hiking Boot It took a couple of hikes to break in,

I needed some boots for hiking and just wearing out and about (i.e. to breweries!)

I've been wanting a pair of hiking boots for a while, and when I saw these go on sale, I snatched them up – best decision EVER!

Absolutely love how cute they are for a pair of bulky hiking boots (if you're into the hiking aesthetic), as well as the fact that they get the job done!

I hiked with these boots in the Adirondacks during a muddy season and they held up great!

My feet stayed dry, I was comfortable for the entire 11 or so miles that I hiked, and I felt like they had good grip on the various terrain that we hiked.

After each hike I cleaned the boots thoroughly.

They are light, comfy-gushy on my feet and waterproof to boot (little pun there)!

My dilemma is whether to keep them for spring boots.

While these are very light they are also an excellent walking boot imo tho if you need them to be waterproofed good luck bc mine are not.

I’m disabled & have bad knees, hips, & spine & these were the most comfy shoes I’ve probably had in my life.

I just know they are crazy comfy & feel wonderful on my feet.

If you are sticking to plowed roads & sidewalks & avoid big drifts of snow & wear a thick wool sock these will probably work very well if you’re looking for a comfy hiking boot.

The soles just do not hold up in comparison to most any other trail show I have ever owned.

Need to be broken in So, this shoe fits both better and worse than other wide toe box shoes I have tried. The toes and balls of my feet have enough room (other wide to box shoes were too tight on the balls of my feet.)

Purchased a size 8.5 men’s, I’m usually an 8 so thought that with a wider toe box I’d be on the safer side.

however recently I've been buying more shoes in size 9 to allow for a little more space in the toe box.

Despite having a wide toe box the toe box is a little shallow.

Makes your feet look small I was going to return these because I thought for sure they were the wrong size, they looked so small in the box.

The Superiors have always run a half size small; even compared to other Altras.

Had to return and size up a half size for a perfect fit.

If you have white feet and have struggled with the so-called wide fit versions of other brand shoes, you really should pick a pair of these up and give them a try.

This was not the case, and the fit is borderline as there is not much toe space.

I'm most happy that the flexible toe guard present on the Lone Peak, which always digs into my toes when I climb or crouch, is absent from the Superior 5 on which a firmer, more structured toe guard preserves space for the toes.

Use them for dog walks, chores, bidding work (arborist), car washing, easy hikes, urban treks.

The shoe is comfortable for running and hiking woodland or alpine trails and city roads, while still preserving some ground-feel.

I use the shoes for hiking, wilderness backpacking, and travel/city walking besides running.

I have used other light weight hikers, the Superiors are my favorite.

I used to turn my ankles from time to time in sturdier traditional Hikers, even the mid highs.

I have hiked thousands of miles in them, from a 25 mile Rim-To-Rim, to 14ers.

And this has really limited my attempts to get into running.

I’m looking forward to adding running to my repertoire, and that will have been made possible because of these shoes.

I have been running in barefoot style shoes for years and love the natural feeling and increased strength in my foot and legs as a result.

They are comfortable and made for wide feet.

While this shoe looks very good and is comfortable it doesn’t compare favorably with the Lone Peak.

So comfortable Great traction and Stability.

This shoe is very comfortable and I think they will be great for backpacking.

Aside from that they are comfy and come with a second inner sole which I suppose might favour those who prefer less cushioning.

Not the best Altra Model for comfort I bought this shoe along with an Altra Lone Peak 7 pair.

Comfortable right out of the box Had never heard of Oboz before reading about them in an article evaluating men's hiking shoes.

I had hiked in some of the more common brands,

Felt so much more stable than my running shoes, and so much more comfortable than any of the hiking shoes I had worn before.

Awesome Boots are great for Hiking or Everyday My US size is now 14R/15L for shoes, 13 for sandals, so I was thrilled that these size 14 were available and fit both feet so perfectly.

Used them for hiking and found them to be quite comfortable and the fact they are waterproof came in handy during a light rain and hiking in light snow.

I use these as rain hikers and they are doing a really good job of keeping my feet dry.

Overall these are decent shoes The pros -price point is good -reasonably waterproof -pretty comfortable right out of the box.

There is a soft mesh on the toe of the shoe that provides lots of breathability while still keeping it pretty waterproof, as I previously said.

I’m sending these back since it looks like a factory defect in the internal stitching causing the discomfort.

Running in these shoes gave me a blister on the side of my foot, and it was painful.

They felt a little too tight the first time I put them on, so I loosened the laces in the fore- and mid-foot, and they fit much more comfortably.

but I wish they were just a tiny bit looser.

If they were made of a stretchy upper material, I think they would be 100% comfortable.

I didn't know whether or not they would stretch out or not.

The only sad part is they've already got a hole in the sole and my dogs are about to be set free after only 3 months of wear.

My two pairs of Alitzas are on their last few miles before I put holes in the soles, both are 37s with room to spare so my toes don't feel cramped.

After about 5 years with my vapor gloves permanently attached to my feet, I wore a hole at the bottom of the heels.

Sizing is the only issue OK..so if you have worn vibram's before you are used to your EU size (I'm a 39).

But I'm leaving my 1 star because I can't get over the sizing issue.

I've even hiked to and from 10 waterfalls in these shoes since I got them and I can say these are the best hiking shoes I've ever worn.

*EDIT*: Wore these hiking on an unexpectedly long hike (our first hike ever and it was 4 miles, half of it was steep).

I’ve worn other five finger shoes for running, hiking, kayaking, snorkeling (under flippers), rock climbing, yoga, weight training, and military PT.

I wear them weight lifting and other inside workouts (not running).

When I started running, I went to one of those stores that did the running analysis on their fancy treadmill.
