The toe box is a little narrow which I find odd for a boot like this.

However, because of the rubber rand lining on the outside, forces the boot to be a little narrow and half a size short compared to other boots by this brand without the rubber rand protection, so be aware when choosing your size.

but based on the boot I received, I am almost certain it would be too tight in the toe box.

I typically wear a light weight liner sock and the boot was loose in the heal when wearing this sock.

These boots are painful in the forefoot for me because the added rigidity with the rubber rand is preventing the leather from molding to my foot.

I have had a pair of Asolo boots that were more geared toward mountaineering or heavy duty backpacking for several years.

First, I have a pair of the Asolo Falcons and they are Incredible - these Landscapes are not equal to the Falcon’s.

Great day hikes with my dog and I’ll use them regularly and save my Falcons for hikes with a pack when I really want a more snug supportive fit

They are a true lightweight/light duty hiking boot.

I will be getting an insert, as they aren't very comfortable on the soles of my feet.

I can feel the hard outsoles even when I added other insoles to the shoes.

Because they velcro close you can't pull the laces tight enough to take the width into consideration.

but..the straps keep turning and constantly loosing up to a point where the boot just wants to fall off

but when I walk in them, they slip off of my feet because they don't lace all the way up the boot and there is no way to secure them in my feet.

I originally ordered these in my regular size seven, and the boot was too small.

But I found them to have little internal structure, so it's a wobbly walk if you're out in the woods where the terrain is uneven.

Not for heavy duty hiking
These little boots are fine and convenient for slipping into to take the dog out for a walk in the city in winter.

Where you normally have a leather tab/loop to help pull on boots, the placement of the ‘stretchy’ rubber band like loop is one; too stretchy and too low on the heel.

4) Although I always get another shoe arch support, the ones these come with don't even a back of heel lift.

Upon closer inspection, I saw I had been sent one size 8 shoe (right- what I had ordered) and one size 8 1/2 shoe (left)!!!

It was past the return date, so I had to buy another pair, sadly.

These boots weathered nicely during our last winter storms in the Central Sierra, from running a snow blower to snowshoeing in Calaveras Big Trees and some fun puppy play days.

but the manufacturing quality seems to have dipped
I bought these to replace my old pair of Helix's so I knew mostly what I was in for.

They didn't have my size (had tried 1/2 size to small), so ordered from Amazon.

But it wasn't until the boots were actually shipped 4 days after I ordered them that the actual arrival time was updated.

What my real gripe is, and why this is a 4 star review, is that out of the box there was some separation between the treads and the leather on either side of both boots.

The leather is soft and break in happened within one day.

Takes more effort to get them comfortably tied than any other safety boot I've worn.

Also if anything having the middle of your foot bear the weight, as opposed to the toe or heel, is kinda uncomfortable after a short amount of time.

End of my 12 hour long shift climbing up and down platforms, kneeling ans squatting while I work my feel is well cradled and cushioned in the helix.

I honestly have no complaints with these boots.

The anti fatigue cushioning is probably the best part of these boots.

These will definitely help lessen with these boots.

Timberland Pro Series boots are one of the few that are comfortable right out of the box.

They are light weight for a safety boot, and the insole supported my feet very nicely.

Overall I am very happy with the boot itself.

Totally comfortable and awesome on concrete.

I have pretty wide feet so it took about three days for the shoe to give in to the fact that my pinky toe wasn't going anywhere, it was the same on my first pair and just like then after a week these things are SO comfortable to put on.

What is pretty cool is there's sort of a cinch on the eyelet right at your ankle which locks in the laces after you pull them tight, keeping them snug while you tie them up.

Great, comfortable safety toe boots, Highly Recommend.

but they are also every bit as comfortable as the titans.

Fitting is perfect it hugs my feet nicely.

10 out of 10 I would still buy and still prefer the Crater Rim's over these boots,

They are slightly narrow so I ordered a wide size.

I had to readjust the laces several times in order to prevent hot spots or rubbing,

Don't buy these if you expect them to be comfy and a great fit right out of the box, they are going to take some work and then some more.

The toe box felt uncomfortable like it was too small or tight.

I wore them till the socks were totally saturated and made my feet feel uncomfortable.

It seemed to take awhile to stretch and feel good.

The folding tongue to lace down design causes a lot of pinching and stress on the arches of the feet.

You have to use tricky lacing techniques to get them to fit your foot,

BUT, if like me, you enjoy the classic styling and a heavy duty stability style boot, they will be worth the effort.

I was so pleased with the Crater Rim hiking books that I decided I wanted Danner's for work.
