The soles are soft, and they have really great support (especially for someone who still doesn't know how to walk in heels).

I just started wearing heels again and these are some of the easiest ones to walk in.

Versatile running shoe that is comfortable for both mid-foot and heel strike After about 100 miles, I like these shoes.

I now run (by "default") using mid-foot strike, after transitioning from heel strike a few years ago.

But there are times when I use a heel strike, like when running downhill (of significant slope).

On a running course that is mostly flat and paved (where I only use mid-foot strike), I like it better (but it does not feel very good with heel strike).

Like I've experienced with a lot of Mizuno running shoes, the shoe is pretty firm.

The fit is very much true to size, and I've run as far as 10 miles in the Sayonara 3 with no issues at all, so I could see this easily being at least a half marathon shoe.

Note that the Gobi V3 don't have a traditional tongue feature under the laces, it's more like a slip on feature, and its kinda hard sliding your feet into the shoes.

The grip just isn't aggressive enough for mud and slippery rocks.

The tread pattern means it does not pick up small rocks in crevices, a huge benefit.

but they do run small and in my experience with NB, you've got to order at least a half size up, which I had done.

Don't pay attention to all the old weirdos here on AMZ that tell you it's necessary to order a size large and a size wide.

Of greatest importance, to my husband at least, was how comfortable the heel on these shoes are.

The tongue on this shoe does not slide from side to side which is a huge plus for me.

Weirdest con that I’ve ever seen is the way the shoe is designed, if you step on a shallow puddle (like walking across a parking lot) it will actually flick water back onto the shoe.

Previous versions had a cloth upper (above the toe box) and my little toe and big toe nail would usually start rubbing through about a year in (I usually run 3 miles about 4 times a week). These have a synthetic upper and have thus far held tight ;)
