As stated in previous reviews, the Baffin boot sticker is just a sticker that is already peeling and cracking when you pull the boots out of the packaging.

Edited in November 2017: these got a split in the back and started leaking.

The opening for the boot is quite large (I have pretty muscular calves so I opted for a boot with a wider opening,

I wore my pair around the house for awhile and noticed I can feel whatever I am stepping on - so both the insole and outsole are quite thin.

Ordered these boots based on the long life of my husband's Baffin boots.

IMHO the interior of rubber boots should not have texture or sharp edges
I loved these at first as they're sturdy, handsome, and initially comfortable.

Good outdoor boots
I bought these boots to wear during the  rainy seasons in Washington (which is most of the year) on our farm.

I can comfortably fit my jeans and socks in the boot, so that's ideal.

So far, the construction seems to be solid and well made.

The sturdy sole is great for snow, ice and large puddles.

I can fit my jeans overtop or tuck them in and they are still comfortable (my calves are average size).

When the boots arrived I tried them on, they fit well, I put them in the closet.

I usually wear a 9 and bought a 9 and it fit well.

I have returned and gotten a refund through Amazon.

The entire lower part of the boot is stiff and inflexible almost (but not quite) like a hard plastic.

Even if you have narrower feet and get the perfect fit I can't really recommend these boots because of the inflexible material.

.unfortunately they sent a size smaller than what I ordered.

The sizing is way off, you need to go a size smaller to have any chance of walking and not looking like your wearing your dads shoes.

I read that it runs a little small so I got it a size bigger and it's still small.

They are slightly too big for me and I bought the same size as I normally wear in shoes,

If there was one improvement to make it would be some harder ankle support (but I had to search for something to say).

The biggest issue is that these shoes have no ankle support, so between the extra width and no support your foot can slip sideways inside the boot.

The first time I wore the boots, I was very impressed that I could slip on a calf height boot with my size (14 US).

I bought these for walking my dog through the woods in deep shoe and the spring melty, muddy, mess.

These are warm and easy to slip on and off.

At first, I noticed how comfortable and warm they felt with the Thinsulate lining.

I've had these boots for over a year now and they are still as good as the day I got them.

I do believe if you lace them up tightly this slipping issue wont be much of an issue – again, I am using them mainly to take my dog out, so slipping off and on easily is fantastic.


I bought the black boot with orange stripe and it is a very nice boot.

Quick Summary: This boot was very surprising at how functional it was for the price.

They are not entirely waterproof - the tongue does not extend all the way up to the top of the boot which means that if you are trudging through heavy snow, your ankles might get wet.

Anything above the bottom of the third loophole will not be waterproof since the tongue is no longer attached at that point.

This really defeats the purpose of having a waterproof snow boot.

You might as well be wearing a regular waterproof shoe.

If you happen to walk in the snow that is above the top of your foot, then you will get wet.

Things that could be better: They run a bit narrow and a bit bit small.

I wanted to exchange them for a bigger size

I returned them and would recommend picking a half or full size larger than typical if you want a good fit.

I’m going to return these and get 10.5s instead.

For some reason, the laces come untied really easily.

I would recommend buying higher quality laces.

The main glaring issue with the snow boot is that the tongue is only attached to the bottom of the third loophole.

They aren’t real bulky like the Caribous, and are just the right height.

but I was surprised by how snugly they fit compared to the other sorel shoes and boots I own.

These boots are so comfortable and warm.

They are very comfortable with adequate insulation.

Lightweight Boots For Winter Errands
Things I like: The boots are lightweight and seem to have good traction on ice and snow.

I have Reynolds in both my hands and feet and these boots still keep my feet warm in winter.

I'm not doing anything strenuous in them, so it's pretty disappointing that after several wears they're already on the verge of having a hole in them.

Probably not worthy the money if this is the state they're in after a few weeks wearing them for less than a couple of hours here and there.

I wear a size 8 shoe in every other shoe and went up to a size 9 because of other reviews and I'm glad I did, because they definitely run small.

Despite opting for the bigger size, the boots were still quite tight on my toes and would have been very uncomfortable to wear.

I was not be able to wear leggings or pants underneath.

It would be impossible to wear these over jeans.

Durability:: I was disappointed to see that the heel is beginning to peel where the heel meets the soul of the shoe after only one wear.

But unfortunately these are less than two months old and the outer leather cracked today.

Narrow in the toe, even the wide calf was too snug.

Both were too narrow in the toe and calf.


This boot is of poor quality, wide leg is small , don't fit .

They could have a little more room in the calve since they were billed as wide calve.

They also have a fairly narrow shape to them so if you have a wider foot it may not be for you.

It was already tight with only bare legs which is not acceptable for winter.

Even with bare legs and 17" calves, the thin plastic zipper may still break after a week because boots are a tight squeeze since the listing is the outer diameter and doesn't account for the inside padding.

The heel is solid and provides a small height increase, the soles extremely comfortable with good grip.

They're nice boots that seem durable considering they're not genuine leather.

I love the way these boots fit over my large calf.

These boots DID fit and so far so good - they seem pretty comfortable and they aren't even too tight in the leg which even some 'wide calf' boots are,

though since it's pretty rare to find a boot that fits my calves, so I'm happy with them.

Wide calf boots don’t always fit well so I was surprised with the comfort in the calf width.

These boots have a great design, good for personal and professional wear.

The boots are a somewhat soft leather like feel

You don't have to stuff the boots for them to stand upright in the closet.

Packaging:: I appreciate that these boots are not bent in half on the claf & instead are packaged upright with no bending to the boots.

This is a comfortable boot and it Zips up fine with my big calves I love that it doesn't have stretching material.

Comfort:: As always with Dr Scholl's shoes, the foot bed in the shoes are cushioned and comfortable.

Only cons are the weight (given with the quality level) and a little bit of heel slip for me.

True to size and really well made these are the only boots ill wear , 12 hr days on concrete and steel catwalks, in and out of chemicals and water .
