I did have to play with every single lace hole to get a proper heel lock, something I never had to do with my brooks,

Disappointing: toe box rubs my big toe joint raw, no arch support, heel lock doesn't work
After all of the positive recommendations I've seen for this shoe, I am truly disappointed.

Lastly, the heel lock does not work nearly as well as it does in my other shoes.

Despite utilizing the heel lock in these, my heel was still sliding slightly against the posterior portion of the shoe.

I am confused by those who praise this shoe for arch support while saying that they themselves have high arches.

I have medium-high arches and found that these shoes offer little-no arch support.

but only after 1.5 months of receiving and starting to use them for dog walks and short runs a few times a week, they are falling apart.

i bought another pair of these because i tried other topo trail shoe and  the cushion gave me shin splints didnt quite fit my high arch.

i have 2 other topo shoe one for road  walking which fit perfect for my wide feet and high arch.

My husband and I love these Topos for hiking because of the roomy toe area, a 3mm drop from the heel and the protective rock plate.

I've been looking for a pair of hiking boots/shoes that fit me and don't feel tight in the toe area - Keen's came the closest,

will keep looking as topo really listens to customers and changes things up to fit great.

I also attempted to correct that with Oboz insoles, which fit much better inside the shoe and were very comfortable.

I bought these for a geology trip out west and these shoes worked great!

For reference I hike in the WMNF working on the 4 thousand footers, these shoes are great.

but I just wipe them down after dusty hikes and they look good again.

It is comfortable on my wide feet, lightweight and breathable, and has lived up to it's name as a trail shoe.


These shoes are the most comfortable shoe if you have poor arches.

These shoes are so comfortable, so light, and work well on dusty trails, rocky trails, steep terrain, grassy paths, and to run errands in around town.

Also worth noting they may not be great for wide feet as they are fairly narrow throughout.

My feet are on the narrow side of medium and I find them hard to get on.

I believe they are about a half size smaller than normal, and they have little to no padding in the footbed.

My foot could be a model for size 10 Women Merrill shoes, so I cannot truthfully say that this shoe does not fit correctly.

the fit hugs the heel and midfoot and is a little too long.

but getting them on initially is hard, tight heels.

Snug around arch, which for me is a plus and tons of toe room without looking boxy.

I have just enough toe room and can move all my toes.

My daughter, who wears a full size smaller shoe than I do, tried them on and found the fit comfortable with a little extra room in the toes.

These are great for running for those who are newer to “barefoot” style shoes.


The shape is amazing every toe finds it's place, shoes are comfortable

She finds these shoes the most comfortable that she has ever owned being very light with great arch support for walking.

There is only one issue and that is they ARE NOT waterproof.

but found out very quickly on wet grass that they are very not waterproof.

So If you are going to wear these outside in wet areas I would either treat them with something or go with Somthing else.

I always change out my insoles for power step pinnacles for high arches and that just makes it even more comfortable.

There is plenty of toe room and a lot of cushion.

Broken piece of the sole after a couple of months of very light use by my 80 year old mother.

Within the first couple of month of having them the bottom tread began to peal and tear off.

but in the part of the heel it hurts and it is very small in the opening, it is very difficult to try to put on, the sole looks very cheap

Now just a few months of having them and the underside of the shoe is nearly bare and they feel like I am wearing 10 year old shoes.

I liked the support and esp the high arch that is so a part of the shoe.

Wide enough, an the toes have room to move and be a part of the actual step.

They are true to size; snug comfortable fit.


These are so comfortable and supportive - I can wear them all day and my feet/knees/back won't hurt.

It's a very comfortable shoe from the first minute I put them on and love that they are also lightweight while having a very substantial foot bed and sole.

but these shoes are NOT supportive stability athletic walking shoes as described.

These shoes are NOT stable or supportive at all.

step it up and make your athletic shoes at least as supportive as your slippers and sandals.

You cant even replace the vionic insert with a custom orthodic insert because there isn't enough room in the shoe- you'd have to size up at least 1 or 2 sizes and even then the shoe is so flimsy it would be like putting your custom insert into a soleless moccasin.

I also have very high arches and Vionics have excellent arch support.

They are molded very well to my foot and seem to have extra room in the toe area which is really comfy.

I liked the zipper because you can just unzip and zip with no need to tie laces! !

Perfect comfort & support for my no arch flat feet , loved  the zipper for the easy on/off.I  have tried others from Vionics  that didn't work for me ,

Seriously, all trainers should have a heavy duty zip like these do.


I love everything about this Trainers especially the Zip.
