the return window is closed and I found no way to initiate communication with you about this (other than this review!).

Unfortunately cant return as shoe is now dirty.

I would also say that if you are closer to a 9 1/2 you will find this shoe a little on the small side.

These shoes fit snug when I first put them on, and I was worried I went to small.

My unfortunate problem is that I had the same problem I have had with all hiking shoes: my heal  slid causing instant hotspot and without moleskin would have been huge blisters;but I think this is an issue of my foot and not the shoe!

More durable than a running shoe and more subtle than a hiking boot
I have a farm and am constantly going from meeting to field to customer service to greenhouse.

These shoes are holding up super well to the wet, rocky, dusty conditions that they’re regularly in (running shoes do not) and I appreciate that they’re less aggressive looking than hiking boots so when I’m meeting non farmers I don’t look ready to Sherpa them up Kilimanjaro.

Just like my hiking boots, these shoes stretch to fit me perfectly.

Crazy comfortable
First time to try Danners, and among the four different hiking shoe candidates I ordered to try on and compare, this one is heads above the others in cushion and overall comfort.

They also felt stable for a shoe that’s basically a hiking sneaker.

Because the work boots fit my foot so well, I turned to Danner for a light weight hiking shoe and was excited when I recieved these.

I went on a 9 mi hike and only had problems with my heal.

Awesome Hiking Shoes
Right out of the box the Danner's were crazy comfortable.

Very happy with the purchase and I would and HAVE recom(m)end/ed these hiking shoes to friends.

These shoes are perfect for hiking and gravel road waking.

But they feel fabulous -- great fit, cushion under the ball of my foot, snug heel box with no rubbing -- couldn't be happier.

I want to give these 5 stars because they are really comfortable (perfect for wide feet) and have a great grip on rocky terrain.

Were comfortable the minute i put them on, felt better than my Merrills and are wellmade.

All right, I'm usually size 8, I would have bought 8.5 to be more comfortable,

I have been on three long walks/hikes with them so far and my feet feel no pain or discomfort.

I almost want to say that I can't tell I have them on (that's how comfy they are).

I am a huge fan of Danner work boots as I have a wide foot and narrow heal and they have always worked for me and last forever.

but way too stiff to use for extended walking or for hiking.

These shoes were very painful on my feet most of the pain was directed on my big toe on both knuckles on the big toe of each foot, I only walked about 1000 feet on a sidewalk,  my feet started to hurt so bad that I had to walk back barefoot, it's really unfortunate because these shoes look very well made.

but they are so stiff and rigid they were virtually impossible for me to walk in and they did seem like they were made to break in enough to ever be comfortable enough .

But since they caused such severe pain on the knuckles joints of my big toes that I couldn't even walk a 1000 feet in them and also after I took the shoes off my foot hurt for a couple of hours, so there's no way I could ever wear them long enough to break them in since I couldn't even walk 10 minutes in them.

Compared to their Firebrand II, this one took far less time to break in.

No leaks so far when standing in a running stream.

wide size fits my EE feet
These low hikers have a firm feel underfoot, which I prefer to some other brands that have more running shoe-like foam cushioning.

These are the most solid hiking shoe I've used in 15years.

They are are robust design and look to pretty much what I wanted.

I'm a size 11 wide and went with an 11.5 wide.. perfect fit!

And the wide size is true to fit with my other shoes.It feels like the front of the shoe comfortably surrounds your foot and the heel counter hugs your heel.

Where you normally have a leather tab/loop to help pull on boots, the placement of the ‘stretchy’ rubber band like loop is one; too stretchy and too low on the heel.

4) Although I always get another shoe arch support, the ones these come with don't even a back of heel lift.

Upon closer inspection, I saw I had been sent one size 8 shoe (right- what I had ordered) and one size 8 1/2 shoe (left)!!!

It was past the return date, so I had to buy another pair, sadly.

but MAJOR durability problem
The shoes have very generous toe box and are very light to wear.

The only problem and a major one is that shoes are not durable, they start to come apart after less than two months of wear (maybe 150 miles).

Worst shoe I have ever worn
Advertised as a hiking shoe.

They are so poorly built that they leaked water after the second wearing.

The toe box was too narrow and my pinky toe and 4th toe were uncomfortable

cheap-quality

The title “Scrambler Mid” accurately describes exactly what you are getting, and that is a mid-height hiking boot that’ll help you scramble up and scramble down things.

I’ve used the Scrambler for both hiking and running, and have found them to be very similar in feel, traction, and fit to the Xero Mesa Trail II running shoe — just taller, which is why it’s my go-to trail boot when dealing with mud, sand, loose gravel, and snow that’s less than 5-ish inches deep.

A minimalist-style boot — lightweight, good traction, wide toe box.

but it is extremely lightweight for a boot (12 ½ ounces in my own size — 12.5 men’s).

I am very happy with the feel of the shoes on my hikes.

Very light weight and comfortable and seem well made.
