Like reviewers said, this items runs large.

-1 star because the traction does not provide slip resistance on wet, slippery surfaces.

I slipped and nearly fell in the New York subway on a rainy day (which is about the grossest place you can fall), and doesn't that defeat the purpose of the boot being waterproof if they slip on wet surfaces?

but the fit around the wide part of the foot (and mine is a bit on the wide side) was too snug.

I don't think they make a wide width otherwise I might consider ordering

I've had the hiking boots for many years and they are still going strong.

The inside of the boot actually comforts your foot instead of being hard and causing pain at the end of the day when you remove them.

These are good, stylish, waterproof boots.

I liked the look of the boot and it seemed well made (it's a Merrell so I wouldn't expect anything less).

when I was walking over ice sheets, I definitely slipped a few times,

The other thing to note is there is little to no arch support in these boots, so I bought my "Walk Hero" insole inserts with me, took out the flat inserts that came with the boot, and replaced them with the Walk-Heros.

Still if there was 1 improvement that could be made, it would be nice if the tread and groves were deeper/bigger on the bottom of the boots.

However, I wish I had ordered a half a size up, so I could have worn thicker/softer socks.

Great boot to have for hiking or the snow.

Also, I bought my regular size 6 and was able to layer with 2 pairs of NOT thick socks and the boots kept my feet warm all day on the snowy mountain.

I bought these boots for a vacation in upstate New York early February 2023.

They were comfortable, kept my feet warm and provided traction when necessary.

They’re so light on my feet, comfy, plenty of room in the toe box for everything to relax yet still supported, sturdy ankle, warm.

I really like these boots, because I recently moved to NY where they get a lot of snow compared to where I used to live.

So, I had to upgrade my boots and these are comfy, warm and work great.

Let me tell you, these boots performed like a dream, & kept my feet warm and dry!

Great warm boots that ACTUALLY perform and do what they say!

I can still wear thick wool socks or normal cushion socks- the boot lace up is very forgiving.

Not waterproof so will treat them and try to not walk in too much water.

My go-to boots for hiking, riding (motorcycle & horse), and working on the farm!!!!!

Great boots
Not fond of cowboy boots, so tried these instead--very nice boots, comfortable right out of the box.

They look good, are made very well, and are more comfortable than my tennis shoes!

but in less than a year, with use only 2-3 times a week, the shoe is starting to deteriorate with small chunks breaking off the sole.

I ordered a half size bigger for heavier socks and they were way too small with thin socks.

Dissatisfied and not going to be disappointed
Like others have stated, my "boots" with very light casual jogging on paved trails have started showing fraying at the toe box flex point near the edges and it's happening to inner and outer on BOTH left and right boot!

like my says "Dissatisfied and not going to be disappointed because I should have seen this coming " Try a different pair of real boots not these because Columbia obviously knows about this problem and they chose to discontinue this product model for a reason.

On a recent 3-day hike it rained constantly and these boots didn't perform all that well.

but in heavy rain or if you step in streams/rivers water will enter from the top and soak through the boot.

Spent some time researching these before buying them.

Ordered 1.5 sizes bigger than my regular size and they fit perfectly.

Super comfortable, I wear them doing chores and cleaning stalls and filling water and love that they are water proof and also have the warm lining in them they kept my feet toasty in the blistering winter we had this year.

..these are the greatest shoes that I have ever worn.

Somehow lightweight, like I’m wearing a tennis shoe. .

They match nicely with other colours and I love wearing them.
