Tried orthopedic insert and felt two BIG hard lumps where the tongue is sewn in sticking down where the pain was, those are not going to break in.

The footbed is cushioned which may not be your thing.


I was so disappointed that the sole grips on my Targhee 2 boots had delaminated after 5 months because they, as all Keen products are perfectly comfortable for my "Greek" feet.

but the insoles pull out easily and can be replaced with ones that have better arch support.

They also lacked in arch support, I had a big inward roll on the forefoot with each step.

They do seem to be a little lacking in arch support,

I was impressed with how light these boots are for being full leather hiking boots.

The leather is sof, flexible yet supportive.

They make amazing shoes/boots and I'd definitely recommend it if you have a medium to wide foot.

I’ve only had these a few weeks.

They’re very comfortable for every day wear and city walking.

but i find them very comfortable and now some of my other shoes just don’t seem as comfortable as I once thought they were.

The soles are cushioned much like the Toga boots I tried (they were too tight around the toes) and are supremely comfortable. It's like walking on your own personal cloud, think "Monkey Magic!"

I ordered 3 different brands of boots, all claiming to be waterproof and tested them using the sophisticated and scientific "submerge-boot-to-a-depth-of-3in-in-a-bucket-of-water-for-1-min" test and this was the only one that remained dry.

The leather upper gives this boot a classic and different look from the other two, which I happen to like.

Fell apart first week on an Outward Bound trip⁰
My son got these for his Outward Bound trip.

The first pair, we got to test the boots out for the trip four weeks in advance, immediately resulted in a broken shoelace loops.

Well, the photos show how the boots fell apart once he returned from the trip.

however, the shoes started digging into the back of my ankle, right above the ball of my heel.

Whenever, I tightened up the laces, the shoes will dig into the back of my heel.

but the right boot in this pair is much louder so I am exchanging these for the same product.

I was going on a 4-night backpacking trip in Iceland and have been searching for wide hiking shoes.

The initial comfort was gone quickly and after 10 minutes they were painful!

Zamberlan Salathe' GTX RR Hiking Shoe - Men's

Oddly they are very narrow and tight in the front of the foot area,

But worst of all, the narrow forefoot pinched downward on the top of my big toe, causing a lot of pain. Ouch!

If you wear a wide shoe, these won’t fit your foot comfortably as the run narrow.
