I've owned most of the big name boots from redwing to Georgia and diehard to Timberlands and even cheap Walmart $25 dollar boots, these boots were so uncomfortable I had to send them back because I couldn't wear them.

but I could not wear them without every step being painful.

After that, both started taking on water in the outer rear corners from where I wore through the soles.

My first pair of Keen boots ( Portland model) lasted 6 months before the seams began to fall apart and the heal wore through.

I found that the lack of a big bouncy insole is a huge asset because I need to feel the nuance of the pedal and the terrain I’m walking on (be it gravel, asphalt, concrete, dirt, grass, mud, etc).

but they make a pair of tough boots.Takes a bit of time to walk these thing in but once done,they will last for a very long time.I used to buy Redwing and then,I found these.I think they form their own soles as well.The toe box is wide,made on a boot last unlike some others which are narrow and pinch ones precious toes.

I wish the tung was wider at the top so it would fit under the sides better.

I didn’t experience them as tight across the top of my foot which is sometimes a thing and I LOVE the room in the toe.

I'd had great success with a pair of Keen hiking shoes, so I decided to take advantage of Amazon's "Try Before You Buy" program.

I have limited mobility; hiking is the only exercise I am capable of, and KEEN is the only company that makes a shoe that I can stand in or walk all day.

These keens just have a list of nice support especially in the heel,

They fit right, they haven't worn out in over a year of long days and greasy nights.

Don't worry -- a few days of wear will help them break in to your foot.

They will last about 7-8 months with constant wearing in the kitchen

And they work in tandem with the soles to make them so easy to wear, if wake up from a nap I forget I'm wearing them.

But I am feeling a lot better in these than in my worn out blundstones (and better than when they were new, too).
