but they take weeks to break in, and meanwhile I'm getting blisters and painfully scraping my toe knuckles on the underside of the lacing rivets.

The other issue I had was on the right side there is a seam on the inside where it transitioned from the eyelets on the laces to the catches that pressed against my ankle and it hurt, a lot, over time.

The sole of a workboot needs to be a harder rubber not something springy and soft like a running show.

This particular variation of built in the USA Keen utility boots are the lightest pair of US built boots that they make, that I know of.

These are easily the most comfortable pair of Keen utility boots that I’ve ever worn.

Plenty comfortable, composite toe is about exactly the same weight as the soft toe (I have a pair of both).

They’re even lighter than the Dearborn boot!

We have plenty of genuinely American made boots here.

Keen could pioneer making modern, athletic fit boots here as well.

I’m barefoot when I’m not at work, and these boots squash the toes together much less than any other boot I’ve tried.

Seem to be fairly waterproof from splashes (have not tried full lower boot submersion).

These were comfortable right out of the box, and after putting 6 miles on them the first day my feet still felt fine when I took them off at night.

These Keens are very comfortable and I honestly was able to wear them all day without having blisters or difficulty with them.

It fit perfectly and has served well in construction work even in another country.

but the Eddie Bauer boot did not fit correctly; either too big or too small--probably because a wide width was not available.

New Balance does run a little narrower than most USA brands,

A few notes: 1) not as wide as many 4E's,

If you struggle with 4E width being slightly narrow, these might not be the right choice.

I wear out a pair of Walmart boots about every 6 months and wasn't really surprised when they started coming out of the box ill-fitting.

All of the above is to say these are the slipperiest shoes I have possibly ever worn; far worse than the Asics or any of the hiking boot/shoes.

It truly takes the joy out of hiking when you are not able to take regular strides because you are worried about slipping and then, you slip anyway.

I have had many different hiking boots (Vasque Monolith, Keen Utility Flint, Dunham Cloud, Carhartt CMH4375, Merrell Moab and Moab 2) and all of them are far superior to regular trainers for traction when hiking.

I buy New Balance shoes because they come in a wide width.

Like other New Balance Shoes, I am very happy with this shoe.

but that does not diminish my like and endorsement of this New Balance hiking shoe.

Anyway, I gladly paid more for the New Balance shoe because it fits correctly and my experience and opinion is that New Balance makes a superior product.

Bought ones with compression toe and low and behold too big also.

but for now, they are really stiff and where the boot does bend in the step it folds in an uncomfortable way on my foot.

WARNING: Unfortunately the boots are "NOT" slip proof when on a wet and slippery surface.

Please be aware with concern, you need to consider the boot tread is like being on ice skates when working in a subzero freezer.

This is something I don't like hearing even on an eight month old boot.

That's the sound that means my boot is no longer waterproof and water will be coming in through the sole.

I've had these boots for 6 months now and can say that they are nothing like the last pair of keen boots I owned the soft sides ripped apart some from using a shovel have separation of the soul to the boot coming apart

The Keen Utility boots I recently purchased are among the best work boots I’ve ever owned.

They’re stylish, and exceptionally comfortable.

The wide toe box and supportive insole leave my feet comfortable even after a long day of work.

They are extremely comfortable and super supportive.

I can actually wiggle my toes around in there comfortable and they don't feel restricted or bunched up as in most shoes/boots.

The Timberland were still very comfortable, even after 6 years

I’m on my feet 10 hours a day and it’s imperative to have a good pair of boots, and these get the job done admirably.

Even at a size larger, my feet don't move around inside the boots.

The soles (specifically on the toe and heel areas) have disintegrated.

After about 6 months the soles were noticeably worn and peeling away from the boot around the heel/arch ladder notch as well as the outside edge near the arch.


Wore the boots 4 times and leather and toes cracked out.

Keen Utility Bigfoot Boots are a winner
I purchased these last fall to prepare for the typical Maryland Winter's snow throwing adventures.

They are THE most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned.

So, I absolutely DO and HAVE recommend(ed) these boots.
