It was nearly a deal breaker that the straps are too tight.

A male family member with the same length and narrower feet than me couldn't even get his toes more than halfway into them because his feet were too thick to fit under the straps.

After one year and one month, the toe hold/connector broke.

but at some point they started making them senselessly narrow and pointlessly breakable.

The long and short is that after 3 days of wearing these things and gradually acclimating to that weird  arch design my foot pain AND knee pain had been greatly reduced to a tolerable level.

These sandals are the ATV of flip flops.

So far so good, using this flip flop, and other measures.

The flip flop itself is comfy once you get used to it.

but wearing the Okibashi flip flops gave me  back a big chunk of my day to day living.

Whenever my feet start to hurt or just get sore I wear the Okibashi Flip Flops for a day or two and get back to normal!

though that just these flip flops have that high arch- other Okibashis don't have nearly the same  arch.

I’ve worn them walking for miles in a single day, kicking a ball around and running around with the dogs (daily), gardening, etc.

I only kept them because I can kick them off regularly throughout the day and they really help my heel pain to the point that 20 or 30 minutes wearing them gets me hours of relief without even keeping them on and even if I am walking around.

I have tried MANY MANY brands, these are the best, and you can't beat the price for a ten year wear.

Bottom line is I keep two pairs in the house at all times and have purchased other Okibashi sandals and I can walk without serious pain.
