The boots are extremely wide for my foot I usually wear red wing 411 traction tread size 12d

But sizing was a little off I got the 12 wide.

While the ankle opening area is wider than I expected (almost wide enough to slip my foot in without undoing the zipper), the toe area is fairly narrow.

ORDERED A 9 1/2 EXTRA WIDE AND SOMEWHAT SMALLER IN WIDTH THAN I EXPECTED.

but the uppers are quite sturdy feeling leather, with good lining (maybe even too much lining for hot weather).

However, cleaned up with some boot cream and polished, they look far better - a shinier darker finish, and protected from minor scuff marks.

Rubber outer soles and heel are quite sturdy rubber - I don't imagine you'll need to replace these before the boots unless you're dragging your heels while riding a motorcycle.

Have had these boots before and they ware well.

The insoles are good, and I'm usually picky about comfortable insoles.

I spent over $230 for this bootie so that was not acceptable to me  The Sam Edelman box that was inside the Amazon box was in a terrible state as if it had gone through a war (see pictures I included) - I would not have minded that if the quality of the boot was on par with the others I have.

I have already completed the return process - within 15 minutes of opening the box and inspecting the product.

The patent was already crinkling and I have not even worn it.

The soles develop deep, large holes in the forefoot, the stitching comes loose near that same area, and the heel comes loose.

Problem is that the boots started separating from the heal and the sole was splitting.

but the sole and the stitching to the sole is just sub par.

They really need to work on the sole issue.

I got these boots as a gift for my husband for our wedding ( because he played sports at Boise state and that school is extremely dear to him-these are their school colors) the quality is worth the price you pay for these boots and he has never once complained about the fit/comfort especially as a engineer out I.

I think the only fix is to wear 2 pair of socks or tape a big gauze around my foot in the heel area that rubs.

The only issue I've had is the inner side seem was rubbing against my right ankle pretty badly so I have to wear thick socks and I put some wadded up newspaper in the boot to stretch it out a bit when I'm not wearing them, both of which have solved this issue.

However, when the new boots arrived, the insole was slightly too big in the left boot, causing it to buckle under your foot, which was very uncomfortable.

Clearly, Dan Post's quality control is lackluster.

The leather felt like high quality, and I was very happy with the quality to price, as I've always worn Luccheses.

After break in the insole cushion system Dan Post uses really makes for a comfortable boot.

The boots felt good right away and I really liked the distressed appearance.

but after a little break in time, they are extremely comfortable and have the softest heel pads of any boots I own.

but they lasted actually VERY WELL, you may not think 8-9 months is long at all for this type of boot, but it was my single and only pair of boots I had, and thats how it will stay.

And the comfort and lightweight feel of them is worth getting an a$$ chewing from safety on the job a time or 2, unless you really are worried about chopping off your toe..🤷🏻‍♂️ Am contemplating the new snip toe look steel toe work boot from lucchese,
