I'm so confused because my other pairs that are the exact same model and size have never given me this problem.

I ordered my normal size and my toes were jammed up against front of toe box.

I'll order a larger size and retry - follow up with a new review based on new size.

Most importantly, the pair I received ran small.

I found that I need to go up half a UK size.


I have other Altras and typically wear a 7.5 women - that was too small in these.

So with the "unisex" sizing and Altras already running on the small side, I think it's difficult for a woman to figure out what size to order in this product.

I have a pair of Altra Olympus in a size 9 (Euro 40.5) and could easily have been comfortable in a half size bigger.

Even two months in, I have to wear ankle socks to make sure my heels don't bleed, which is a shame because I like to run as barefoot-like as possible.


Shoes feel unstable, wear very fast both top material and rubber sole.

I will not be able to wear these as running shoes, as my toe touches the end of the shoe when I'm running.

The sole of the shoe shows significant tread wear after just one short run.

Firstly, these racing flats are unisex, which leads to some discrepancies with the sizing of the shoes compared to other shoes from the Altra brand, certainly for men's sizing anyway.

but due to the sizing - it's unlikely that you'll be able to use the same shoe comfortably with and without the insole.

It's almost nothing once the insert is removed and would be a dreamy minimalist racing shoe if it were easier to get the sizing right.

However, the 8.5 I ordered are tight, enough so that my partner noticed the first time I put them on.

I have to say these are the ONLY Altra or any minimalist shoes that have ever rubbed my heels to the point of bleeding.

For some reason, the tabs on the heels are sharp and stiff and dig into my heels.

These shoes are super light, they hardly weigh anything at all.

Having said all that, the shoe is very light weight with a thin breathable upper and an ultralight sole.

The shoes come with 2 inserts - one with a foot shaped contour which I assume is for comfort, and a less cushioned completely flat one which makes the shoe feel like a true racing flat.

The soles are bouncy as most Altras, so I'm sure they'll be just as comfortable.

The race shoes are comfortable and so light that you can barely feel you've got them on.

They're comfy with a nice snug instep and not as cushy/padded as some of the other Altras.

plenty of room for toes to spread out, very comfortable and no pains or pangs whatsoever.

I ended up taking out the removable supportive innersole and replacing it with a very thin, cheap drugstore type.

I also have to use a shoe horn while putting on the shoes because the soft, padded pull-on tabs on the heels roll inward while trying to slip my feet into them.

They're not "clunky-looking" like flat shoes can sometimes be.

Aravon excellence
I bought these Aravon shoes for their classic style and wear them for work and they are comfortable enough for extensive walking.

Comfortable and Price is Right
For the money, this is one of the most comfortable shoes I've found.

but these shoes don't wear out as quickly.

I wear a wide width, and the toes are not squished and the heel does not slip while walking.

I have worn these every single day no break in required, long days, short days and everything in between.

I normally wear an 8.5 but had to exchange them for 8's.

I wouldn't wear these hiking or a full day of brisk walking,

I had to use inserts to help from feeling the base of the shoe.

The back slips a little bit and the sole is strange, like you can feel the bottom part of the soles through the shoe when you step.

Comfortable, light weight, flat shoes exactly what I was looking for. Great!

Tried them on after walking all day, and they felt extremely comfortable, and for the price even better.

Almost returned them because they are called Black Sparkle,

After reaching out to the seller, they said that if you click into the additional return policy info, it says that there are return fees associated UNLESS it is an Amazon fulfillment mistake. First of all, this COMPLETELY negates what is said when hovering over the free returns, which states: "You can return this item for any reason: no shipping charges."

So beware if buying to try on with the intent of returning for free because it's messy.

They do actually have a little arch support which is nice compared to other flat type shoes.

By far one of the most comfortable shoes I've owned.

They fit well, I do wear socks and they fit perfectly.
