The stitching on the edges seemed frayed in some areas, and the sole did not provide much traction on smooth surfaces, making it a bit slippery at times.

The material on the top of the slipper can be kind of scratchy on bare feet,

But I happened to put these on without socks and find some of the materials around the top of the foot not comfortable, slightly scratchy when I wear them.

but if I wore no socks more often I believe I would be unhappy with the scratchy materials in such a comfort item.

I subtracted one star for the scratch factor.

but if you're planning on wearing them while barefooted, I would either trim the excess elastic on the gussets or add some bias tape to cover over the scratchy edges.

The sizing was a bit smaller than expected, and the slipper felt snug around the toes, which was uncomfortable for extended wear.

The cushioning could also be improved for better comfort and support, especially for those with foot issues or for longer periods of wear.

but it also means my foot has too much room to slide forward (& I feel like I'm wearing my dad's slippers).

I wear size 7 in any type of shoes, boots or sandals these are a big size 8 .

The 7 fits perfect with a Zock sock or other thin sock & I do expect that they will stretch a bit, so if you are a 1/2 size, I would recommend ordering down as I found them to run big.

And I was extremely annoyed that this pair looks and feels like someone already wore them and broke them in.

I usually wear a 7 & 1/2 or 8 in street shoes---I ordered this in both a 7 & an 8 & sent the 8 back as they were pretty big.

I was pleasantly surprised by these boots.

Durability: They are a little clunkier than most paddock boots, which I actually like.

Overall, I give these boots 5 stars and hope they hold up!

They are very comfortable, not a lot of time breaking them in and they have worked beautifully walking through the barn, getting a bit wet, stepping in all types of fun, lol

but with a bit of manual breaking in by hand and rubbing bar soap on the inside, the leather softens up and doesn’t rub ankles or cause discomfort.

Comfortable, seem durable, and were a great deal!
