One of the first things I noticed after slipping into these is how extremely comfortable they are.

Everything about this shoe is comfortable and these can be worn all day without any kind of discomfort.

It's a great upgrade to those 90s/00s boots we know and love.

I'm on the petite side at 5'4" and 102lbs and finding boots or booties that fit my smaller legs and calves can be difficult, so it was a nice surprise that these were as closely cropped as they are.

Not as sturdy as I'd hope

I will say the shoe is not very sturdy especially if you are out with the girls and need to walk a little bit.

I am plus size, and in my opinion the shoe doesn't feel like it can hold my weight.

The little gold accent at the tip is a nice touch and makes these look real classy.

This shoe would be perfect with a cute pair of jeans or leggings.

Nevertheless the pump is cute and would be nice for indoors.

waterproof

I only have one critical point: the waterproofing seems to leave the leather with a kind of depthless finish.

I'd rather have them without waterproofing so they could be improved by treatments like saddle soap that absorb into the leather and give it a deeper surface.

but with it that silky sheen came off too leaving a matte surface, and I realized something: As they're Florsheims I had assumed the waterproofing was achieved by some process of infusion through & through the leather, but no, it's a disappointing clearcoat spray on the surface.

To make them waterproof at the most vulnerable point, the outsole is entirely synthetic and fused to the uppers, not stitched, though for the sake of appearance I wish they had even non-functional stitching,

I took it too far up the shoe and after the first wear the wax had cracked & flaked off where the foot flexes, so I decided to remove it from that area with saddle soap.

I think Florsheim knocked it out of the park with this restrained, classy model.

Best Bike-Toe
Most bike-toe shoes are more elongated than I'm used to and I was sold on this model when I saw the view from the soles in the listing photos - the toes are so mildly squared off they're almost the same as a regular shoe, and they're not ridiculously pulled out to make a snout like some of the more exaggerated versions of this style.

but with that distinctive panel that drops down over the nose and defines the bike-toe style.

Bike-toes are among my favourite styles of dress shoes and I've been looking for just the right take on it for a long time.

but appreciated details: the tongue is a double layer of leather with sponge padding inside, and the laces are heavily waxed so they're likely to stand up against tugging & tight knotting without getting all shredded.

Leather is still the best stuff for the inside of a shoe and not only does it have leather for the insole

For the price, the midsole should have been FreshFoam.

The top of the shoe material seemed harder and lower quality, the glue around the sole was sloppier and more visible.

I've had these shoes for a handful of months.

but in short order these flimsy, thin crappy insoles gave me no cushion.

Eventually I pulled out the shockingly thin and flimsy insole and felt around inside the tip of the shoe and realized the stitching and the fabric that attaches it to the sole was hard and bumpy.

The base is a bit narrow and will be uncomfortable for people with broad feet.

I took a few weeks off and tried putting them back on and within no time my feet started hurting again.

however they weren’t much wider than most regular width shoes.

I ordered 7 1/2 WW and feel these are too short because they are very pointed.

When I tried to tighten them I realized they were already in the tightest hole and that the holes were on the shoe rather than the strap, making it impossible to add more.

Shoe feels bulky and cuts high at the ankle, finish looks very artificial and cheap, also I am almost positive I received seconds.
