Either way, it's particularly vexing, because it tends to shred the front of the shoe when it happens on pavement, wearing it down further and leaving hanging bits of rubber that need to be clipped off.

but there are some obvious improvements that could be made, particularly for someone who wears them every day.

The rubber outer edge of the shoe is prone to some cosmetic wear.

If the makers had used that same rubber for the bottom of the shoe, these shoes would probably have better traction (but wear down MUCH faster).

An unfortunate fact is that most sandals are not made for everyday wear.

The problems range: many are too uncomfortable for long-term use, others just can't handle constant wear and quickly degrade.

but people with high arches may want to avoid them (especially if you plan to wear them often).

I've noticed the top strap isn't as flexible as I would like it to be.

The strap dig into the top of my foot while walking which leads to discomfort. Will ear them for short periods of time until they break in (hopefully)

See, the issue is that when the foot-bed gets wet, it becomes slick as soap.

CONS: Traction in certain wet environments (especially things like high-traffic tile floors during a rainstorm) is a big issue.

But make no mistake, the OluKai Ohana flip-flops are super comfy!

Olukai loves my arches and made a sandal to keep them high.

I've been wearing the Olukai 'Ohana sandals for a little over three weeks now, and so far I am impressed, which is not an easy thing to do, especially at this price.

Great flip-flop for around town and adventuring
I was looking for a pair of flip-flop sandals to replace my old Chacos that had died unexpectedly after about 16 years of regular use, sometimes including hiking.

although they feel like i could conquer the entire world on foot and still have some flip flop left over in the end.

I would say, if you have very flat feet, you might not want to wear sandals like this that are obviously made for folks with higher arches.

Olukai was the favorite across the board, and the reviews on ALL their shoes seem to be so good, so I finally ended up with a pair of these Kulapa sandals on the way.

They arrived nicely packaged by Amazon, inside a nice Olukai shoe box with tags attached.

I have my eye on even more Olukai shoes for both me and my husband, who also suffers from foot pain when wearing cheap shoes.

I bought a pair of men's Ohana flops and the padding wore out within a few months.

I wear a 12 shoe and found even the size 13 too snug.

So far, all my research has accomplished is to convince me to purchase the Olukai Ohana flip flos yet again.

But if you need support and comfort, and it has to be a flip flop, drop the $75, and get the Olukai Ohanas.

These are very comfortable sandals for my flat feet.

Great fit  and style
Bought a pair for each of my sons.

Both loved them, wear them everyday (except to work) fit great and extremely well made.

He is flat footed and has wide feet and they have a good arch in them.

A little heavy because of the sole of the shoe

I bought them in black and the dye from the insoles comes off all over the bottoms of my feet.

I cleaned the insoles several times, hoping it would help,

but every time I’ve worn them the soles of my feet turn black.

but the straps a scratchy now, and they are visably 1/2 size smaller then my last size 9’s.

The arch is in the wrong place, so I ended up giving them to a very appreciative size 8 friend.

It would be nice if Olukai made half sizes,

I don’t really even want to wear them anymore and I feel like I wasted my money.

They were also not as comfortable as the rubber ones I wear and like.

I'd been wearing Scott "Makaha" 'slippers' as my go-to footwear daily for most of the last two years (lockdown, work from home, etc) and while I've worn Scotts for years, their rubber footbeds were hard on the soles of my feet with that much concentrated wear.

but look to be less durable as daily drivers--they are showing some wear on the toes after a month.

I love these things they are my every day sandals they last years and are comfortable and hold up so so well

I've never been a sandal person,

but stuck with the 'Ilikai model as it was the most comfortable of the group.

Great look, comfortable to wear, and will last a long time.

The fit is consistent with my Scotts or Nike running shoes; straps are comfortable; arch support is ok.

Break in time was minimal and the arch support is just right.

They usually last about 1 year for neoprene and 2 years for leather, and all provide perfect support for higher arches.
