The boot reaches my shin and has a wide opening, as I walk, the rim of the boot runs against my shin, making it sore and incidentally wearing away my leg hairs leaving a bald patch.

And the wide opening collects bit of debris.

These are shorter and come up calf length, these are great if you want something comfortable, waterproof and easy to put on or take off.

They have a comfortable insole and are waterproof.

Most comfortable boots I have ever owned.

One of those rare experiences with footwear where you put them on and they are so comfortable you can immediately wear them all day long.

This is my second pair of Muck Boots and I am really happy with them.

If I got a size 14 instead of 13 I think they'd be too roomy so I don't mind a thinner sock, and the laces are just awful

but they do run small get a size up and wide if it was me..

Runs 2 sizes smaller than what you wear
Alright, don't let the 3 star rating push you away.

The reason for the low star rating is they run small.

However, they were extremely small, like so small I thought I had ordered women's size.

I returned them, which they did make easy, then ordered a size 13.

I read reviews where some folks found them too small, others complained they were too large so I ordered a size 11M (my normal length and width). BANG!!!!

Con’s: Initially a little uncomfortable (stiff).

One reason this boot is easily broke in is that it is not a "heavy" leather boot (which make boots very stiff with difficult ankle and forefoot flexing).

For example, my heavy hiking and mountaineering boots are both +3mm Idro Perwanger Italian leather and were very stiff initially (though the mid-sole construction/material/insulation affected that as well).

Another reason these boots break in so easily is that they do not have a thick, rigid or semi-rigid "mid-sole" that is super stiff like professional logging boots use.

but some boots I need a 14 for width, and my only two qualms with these are 1.)

My feet are like duck feet - heel is a bit narrow and forefoot is a bit wide.

I'd recommend having a spare set of laces on hand to swap out when they do break, or get ahead of it and replace them immediately and use the ones it came with as backup Overall so far, 8.5/10.

They give him all the comfort and protection that he needs in a work boot.

These boots are made to good quality, they offer steel toe protection and moderate water protection.

Great boot for wet environments
I work in landscaping, so my footware can go from dry to wet to caked in mud back to dry and wet again in the matter of an hour and I've been looking for a decent boot that doesn't break the bank that's also comfortable, waterproof and has a hard toe and these are holding up great ( so far 1 month of use, about 8-10 miles/day, 6 days a week).

Finally, these boots are "waterproof" enough for me - they haven't soaked through as i've been pressure washing stuff around the homestead.

What a GREAT work boot!!!

I could not be more pleased with these boots.

But these ARE excellent $130.00 boots.I seriously doubt there is a better, longer-lasting, higher-performing boot in this price range.

These boot mid-soles and soles are pleasantly semi-flexible and provide a great balance between being like sneakers and being like mountaineering (or ski) boots.

I've been wearing my boots around the homestead here working on different things and they give excellent traction.

I recently wore my boots while cleaning gutters, the chimney, inspecting shingles, etc and the material of the sole is soft enough to be "grippy" on the shingles,

Great boot very comfortable even after working 12 to 16 hours a day 6 days a week.

It’s comfortable and meets the safety requirements.

They are comfortable and keep your feet moderately warm.

Pro’s: Superstrong construction and extremely comfortable (see con’s).

Very waterproof and when paired with good wool socks, they make for great heavy hiking boots.

I was walking through mud for 4 days straight and these things kept my feet dry and mud free.

Instead, he said they were perfect and kept his feet dry.

As others have noted, they’re a bit heavy — about as heavy as a other Bogs with composite toes.

Plus the composite toe cap protects my toes.

Which means now when it’s sloppy or muddy, I don’t have to choose between my work boots or my rain boots.

The sole is somewhat thinner than his previous boots; muck boots.

but the sole is not as thick as I would it to.

He has been wearing them daily for several weeks and they are starting to break down; cracking where they bend during walking.

Unfortunately they didn’t last 30 days before tearing.

The boots that I bought locally here is much thicker more protection in my opinion.

All in all, the boots are still water proof,

He said the boots are comfortable and easy to put on and take off.

But they were half the price as the muck boots so he is giving them a try.

The leather is water resistant and the boot breathes well.

These are lighter, more flexible and overall more comfortable after a 10hr shift.
