This was the worst sprain I'd endured  in my lifetime and I became resolved to find a way to walk on rough paths without fear of that excruciating pain brought on by stepping in a hole and burying my ankle in the dirt!

They walk on nice even surfaces and their balance slowly erodes until it becomes a dangerous situation.

As these boots don't have any extra padding, I would also recommend going down .5 size unless you wear thick socks.

Extremely comfortable and takes a good shine.

There's no extra zazz written into the making of this boot, which frankly makes it so awesome.

but the 8" ankles give the boot the grip on your leg to stay there.

I found the price to be VERY reasonable, and the boots arrived very quickly.

These boots allow me to feel the unevenness of the surface under my feet without pain.

If you want comfort, security and protection all at the same time, I highly recommend these boots, that were recommended to me!

UPDATE: December 9, 2020 It has been almost 3 years since my purchase of these wonderful boots!

These are tough boots, showing very little wear and tear.

Once these boots were fully 'broke in getting them on and off is a breeze.

The slippers fit perfectly and I really liked the sole being shoe-like so you can go outside even if there's snow.

It was particularly BAD since the delivery came when my hiking Buddy happened to stop by…wanted to show them off,

They are also quite stiff and need breaking in (as a good hiking boot should).

Not what I expected from Vasque
When my many year old Vasque hiking boots finally wore out this winter, I selected the Breeze AT as a replacement, hoping that I would like them as much as my old favorites.

With Breeze, I literally could not get my foot in the boot with a hiking sock on.

They also aren't suited for people with wide feet,

I agree these are for narrow feet and the toebox (top to bottom) is small.

Both fit about 1/2 size smaller and narrower than any other shoe I own.

These had been worn, and came with dirt on them.

It does take quite a few miles to break in the area around the ball of the foot to where it has enough flex to handle running up stairs, and they aren't as comfy at the Breeze Lt Gtx I wear during Summer,

The probably have to be worn about 5 times to get comfortable.

The original listing did not note the shoe was a woman's shoe and so of course on arrival it was too small for my male feet, as men's and women's shoe sizes are not at all the same.

I wish they had the same color in a men's size,

I will say that the Breeze AT is a nice looking boot, and has many of the quality features one would expect from Vasque.

but is rigid enough to keep a firm footing. They're much lighter than traditional work boots, which is a huge help when you're constantly pressed for time, and the uppers are insulated enough to keep your toes warm while remaining breathable enough to not get hot and soggy when the going gets sweaty (shout out to all you 3rd floor apartment dwellers who think it's cute to order 140 lb mattresses.)

Yes they fit narrow, yes they are sturdy and I've had them for almost a year now.

Tried Merrill for my last boots and Vasque is so much more solid.
