The return pairs have been sitting by my front door for 5 days and they still are off gassing.


Sadly I had to return these as they are much too big.

The difference is not enough for me to return them,

I opened the packaging very carefully, figuring I would have to return these half-boots, just as I've had to return all the other supposed "wide calf" rain boots I've ever bought.

Suggestion for the company: PLEASE make waterproofed, warm-lined SNOW boots now!

We wide-calf ladies do not have any waterproof, high-traction, pull-on snow boots that fit, please take pity on us, Jileon, so we can wear our nice coats with plain dark boots.

I usually order 9.5 so ordered a 10 which are much too long in the foot.

Despite my fat feet, they are roomy in the calves making them easy on and off and more comfortable to ware than other boots I've tried.

These hit below the widest part of my calf (21” at widest) and I have a little extra room.

The footbed is wide enough with a little extra room still for my standard wide feet.

This morning, I am filled with gratitude toward this company, their boot designer, and the world in general.

Then I pulled on the boots. effortlessly.

I also love the rubber soles, as I feel more sure-footed in those than in boots with heels.

************************************* Second follow-up: My husband insisted I buy more of these boots because I'm so ecstatic about finally having waterproof boots I can wear and walk in.

These insoles fit PERFECTLY into the bottom of these boots.

So with socks, the boot liners I bought, and jeans tucked in, I'm anticipating a lovely winter of warm, dry feet that don't hurt even after wearing these to go shopping in all day long.

They are amazing underneath these Jileon boots.

I can wear my warm merino wool thick socks with them and still be able to slip them off and on easily.

but flexible enough that I think it will be comfortable walking around in.

but once I put socks on, then the liners, and then tucked in my jeans, all was comfortably snug and felt fine.

Feet were warm and dry, I felt like I had good traction and wouldn't fall.

Finally (and thank you, dear reader, for bearing with me for this long): I have finally found lovely warm stretchy socks for wide-calf ladies.

I purchased these as the colour was pretty and living in BC, spring rains were coming.

I would buy six pairs each and be set for life.

Also of note: I bought some orthotic inserts I like on here (Powerstep Original Full Length Orthotic Shoe Insoles), which work every bit as well as my custom-made orthotics from the podiatrist at a small fraction of the cost.

The moral of this story - don't buy shoes online.

Sizing: The Arrowheads tend to run small and people often order a half-size larger.

but were a tiny bit narrow at the widest part of my foot users of these Ridgeviews advised to order your normal size.

The laces are too short and the lace holes are very tight making lacing more difficult.

The right shoe is roomy and made correctly.

But, I decided to keep them, and I'm happy with a bit of extra room.

This tying method worked wonders and the extra room provided good insurance against losing any more toenails.

Let’s start with that the sole is soft and squishy foam like walking shoes that are 1/4 the price.

This allows the bottom to be cinched better to hold the foot back and the upper has a little more freedom. I had lost large toenails before.)

but I have a favorite insole, the PowerStep Pinnacle, that is a little more cushion with good arch support is what I use in all of my walking/hiking shoes.

The Ridgeviews are mid-ankle vs the below-ankle Arrowheads to offer some ankle support, have an incredible traction sole and plenty of toe area room to protect your toes during descents.

I've worked in them for a couple of days and they're pretty scuffed up so I'm not going to try to return them.

The boot appears to be well manufactured.

It is a heavy, stiff, slightly oversize work boot.

The worst thing is the upper is so large in relation to the length I have the the sides laced almost completely together and the boot is still a little loose on my foot.

but these boots seem somewhat larger than expected.

Hard to believe anyone would have that fat of a foot to need that much room.

I got a 9W initially and had to swap them for a 8.5 W. They feel comfortable with ample wiggle room for toes and provide good grip.

Most composite toes like to leave some extra room and this boot leaves plenty.
