Oddly, it's the same place my heavy wool socks (worn around the house without shoes) wear out.

Loving my new Xero barefoot running shoes after a couple weeks.

Am running smoother, lighter and faster and loving the new ability to really feel the ground and my feet.

Maybe that’s why getting slammed around by a car didn’t break them… Still, that possible "benefit" of old school running aside, my new style of running is much better than how I used to run.

I have now completely switched to these Xero shoes for my long walks.

I use one pair for my long walks and don't care how dirty they are.

As a plus, learning to walk in these fixed an issue I had with my Xero sandals mentioned above, namely my foot sliding forward so that my toes rubbed the ground.

The soles are on the harder side, and the straps were a little tight for my wide feet,

I guess order at least a half size up if you want these, because these were sliding off my feet as I was walking (the straps across the top are not stretchy and my arches are relatively tall so my foot was sort of being squeezed out by the straps).

It's a wonderful feeling to place them on my feet at the end of a day of running about with my young grandchildren.

They are warm and cozy and give me that pampered feeling.

And these get comfy after you break them in.

But for her they were comfortable enough that when she saw them she said she didn’t want them, and I made her try them on just in case, and she decided after that that she in fact did want them.
