Didn't fit as well as same size shoe in store labeled as 10 mens

I've glued a small part of the sole back on a few times, and they are now near end of their useful life.

One thing to mention is that these shoes run HUGE in size.

Also, the air circulation seems lacking because I feel my feet getting very warm with my everyday hiking socks.

but I found no discomfort walking, running, and climbing.

They are a running shoe with a hiking boot sole on them which is what I wanted.

These are exactly what I wanted since running shoes hurt your feet after being in them for days with those soft impact absorbing soles.

I can take a new Merrel wide shoe and go for a 20 mile hike the first time I wear them without issues (not that that occurs very often anymore).

but the extra stability is worth the extra weight for my day hikes and trail runs.

However, wearing Merrels for over 20 years now, I remember no issues with seems coming undone or rips that were not well deserved.

The soles are showing no wear after a few weeks (about 3 days of regular wear and about a dozen miles of trail) A will built shoe, great deal for the money.

They are still holding up very well, still no heavy signs of wear on the soles.

The holes are small and can be annoying to get the feet in.

But these shoes do not hold up well to rough handling the shoes are painted white around the sole so when scratched the color underneath comes out.

My only complaint is that the foot opening is small and tight so it is a struggle to get them on at times.

but not a big deal to me, is that a little bit of the grey coloring/paint rubbed off - I mean they are plastic shoes, sooo expectations shouldn’t be too high for $10.

As a mom to three, I just wasn’t willing to pay $27.99 for a more established brand in the plastic shoe market.

They held up to running, tantrum jumping, scootering, park play, water play and some rough striding.

The straps are very thin “felt-ish” material.

And hot glue the strips of Velcro that are attached to the straps so the shoes doesn’t go flying off or tripping my sons resulting in hurting them even more.

They also kept making my kids feet REEK (granted I know little boys feet get sweaty and stink already,

AND they gave them some sores shortly after starting to wear them, making their toes crack, bleed, and peel in really funk ways, it was like as if they had contracted some fungus or something or were having a reaction to the sandal material.

It shreds like CRAZY and I’ve had to trim the strands so they can attempt to hold the sandal on.

SO If you’re needing some “summer sandals” for kiddos that grow at a crazy speed and don’t expect to get more than a couple of weeks/months out of these, then they’ll serve your purpose.

but overly flat & thin insole caused feet to slide to outside of shoe & become sore.

I went to the beach this past weekend and tried out these shoes first thing I noticed was the smell after opening the package whatever chemical is used for the soles of these shoes is really strong and it permeates through the bag after you open them I smelled it in my car when I tossed them in my car going to the beach so I don't know what what smell that is or what chemical that is what that does make me think twice about buying swim shoes I don't know if every pair of swim shoes has the smell because this is my first pair of shoes ever.

but it is a factor if you are very adverse to Smells maybe not this shoe I just know that smell is really strong whatever chemical is being used on the sole of the shoe.

but if you're going to be going into deeper water it's  a possibility you could loose the shoe.

but For me personally I was afraid to go any deeper into the water wearing these shoes because I feel like if I lift my foot off the ground or started swimming the shoes would come off and I tried to tighten them as much as I possibly could

Also the drawstring or the adjusting mechanism for the shoe I feel like it could be a bit better it tightens

These are a great, light, comfortable and affordable shoe that is perfect for slipping on quickly and running around.

Two months later, and the fabric has stretched quite a bit and now they make a loud flopping sound while walking and sometimes I kick them off accidentally.

however they are heavy and not for wearing if you are planning to walk a lot.

Unfortunately these toe post sandals were tight over the instep and the post not high enough toward the toe, which prevented my foot fitting properly, causing my heel to overhang the back.

The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because compared to most Easy Spirit shoes, they have very little arch support.

Disappointed, as I usually swear by Easy Spirit - perhaps just not toe post style.

The inside, bottom of the shoe is flat and hard.

The bottom sole started to rip up on the toes and heel, and I had to buy shoe glue to fix.

But finally, in a rush, I used one foot to take off the shoe from the back of the sole - like you would with literally any shoe - and I hear a rip.

Sole separated from the shoe itself, and you can look through to see my sock - clean rip.

After only about a month the sole started coming unglued.

I glued the sole down and then another part of the sole started coming unglued.

Every few weeks I have to glue another part of the sole back on.


On the first weekend the outer sole on the left shoe started to split, I glued it back together a few times to try and make use of the shoe.

within a couple of months the outer sole on the right side started to peel off too.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS THAT THESE SHOES RAN LARGER THAN THE NORMAL SIZE SHOES THAT PEOPLE WEAR.

SO, I TOOK THEIR ADVICE AND ORDERED THESE SHOES ONE SIZE SMALLER THAN MY NORMAL SHOE.

WHEN THE SHOES ARRIVED, THEY WERE SO SMALL THAT I MIGHT AS WELL TRIED TO FIT MY FOOT IN MY WIFE'S SIZE 7 HIGH HEELS!!

I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED CUSTOMER SERVICE TO RETURN THE WAY TOO SMALL SHOES!

I THEN, NOT ONLY WENT UP TO MY NORMAL SIZE, BUT I WENT UP AN EXTRA HALF SIZE BEYOND THAT!!

IT TOOK ALL THAT SIZE TO FIT MY FOOT IN COMFORTABLY!

SO, IN CLOSING, IN " MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SHOE", GOING DOWN A SIZE WAS A HUGE, HUGE MISTAKE!

THAT PUT ME BACK OVER A WEEK IN REORDERING MY REGULAR SIZE + ANOTHER HALF SIZE ABOVE THAT!!

I'm a natural 8.5M, with narrow feet; and these shoes arrived slightly larger and wider than expected.

NOTE: THESE SHOES DO RUN MORE NARROW THAN A REGULAR MENS "D" WIDTH.

Insoles are the answer
I ordered a size 42 and it was a really tight fit.

I would have returned the shoes if I wasn’t able to remove the overly thick (high quality) insole and replace it with a lower profile style.

I love the shoes and the fit now , and suggest that the reviews  about the shoes running small are a result of the high profile insoles.
