Definitely a hybrid hiking shoe with 70% more stability and sturdy sole than a trail running shoe.

The upper water resistant fabric has more flex and appears like a running shoe.

These shoes never disappointed in over two years till I just recently decided I cannot hike mountains with the tread warn down.

Superior Running Shoe
I would call myself a serious non-professional runner.

The soc fit upper is comfortable and does fit like a soc.

Soc2 really do fit your feet like a sock.

I like neutral shoes with standard toe heel drop and these seem to fit the bill.

It hardly feels like it’s there yet my feet feel supported and cushioned on every heel strike.

I'd imagine it'd be good for heel strikers as well.

I had to replace the laces with some that were thicker/stayed tied and didn’t tangle so easily.

They are too thin or too slippery such that almost every time they become unlaced soon after starting my walks.

My only complaint is the insoles can take awhile to air dry.

I am a big fan of Salomon running shoes (although I am only a long distance walker).

Salomon Unisex-Adult Ultra Glide

TOO NARROW - Shoe is not for normal sized feet.

That said, they seemed to be the width of a child's shoe!!

Unbelievably narrow on the sides and tight on top of the foot!!!

I'm an adult male that normally wears a size 11 or 11.5 depending on the shoe. These were actually a tad long in the 11.5 due to how pointy they are in the toes (I would have been fine with a 11 length, in theory.)

but they don't breath as well and do not feel as light.

Bought these Ultra Glides originally to mix in with the Salomon Sense Ride trail running shoes for Ragnar trail relay races and other ultra races.

I am buying another pair before they disappear.

Will be buying another when this one reaches retirement.

Super comfortable when doing long trails on asphalt and off road.
