though for a sandle made for walking, and the reason I haven't given them 5-stars, is that the front strap on a shoe of this design WILL continue to keep your big toe pointing in towards your other toes, preventing it from splaying.

I would probably not want to walk long distances in these,

When I walk with them on, my feet still feel tired,

but that is something I really wish I didn't have to do, because then I have to immediately wash my hands afterward - which often has me walking through my "no shoes indoors" house wearing my sandals, which defeats the purpose of the no shoes allowed part.

Bottom line, I only received one sandal; if you order these on Amazon, make sure it is shipped inside another box.

They aren't quite as flexible in the sole as I had expected, compared with other barefoot models,

Furthermore, you pretty much have to be touching the bottom of your sandal to put on and adjust.

As well as when I am out, say at the beach, putting them on requires again all that bottom shoe contact with no real place to then wash my hands.

And finally - when these babies get wet, such as stepping through a stream or stomping around beach water - the top of the soles get SLIIIIIICK.

Great minimalist sandals
Grabbed these because I needed something water-safe with a back strap, and absolutely love them.

They’re definitely a different experience from thicker sandals with more cushion and support.

You feel more “in control” then you do with thicker sandals.

They eased my mind when they assured me if that should happen,  the sandals were covered with a 24 month warranty on the straps and a lifetime warranty on the soles.

but with a little protection,  I HIGHLY  recommend these Xero sandals!

Had my Z Trails for almost exactly a month and I can say they are the best sandals I think I have ever had.

Hiking was a magnificent experience in these sandals!

And something I never thought about when first getting these sandals is that when tiny pebbles do inevitably get stuck between my foot and the sandal it's so simple and easy to get them out because of the minimalist style of the thing!

but they feel quite spongey and I can imagine would feel like having a spa at the end of a long walking adventure, after you have changed out of your hiking boots.

The strap material is much softer, and I love the minimal, barefoot feel.

The “barefoot” term is accurate - it feels like you’re wearing nothing.

The open toe design enhances the barefoot feel with no strap between your toes.

They are very comfortable, and having worn barefoot shoes for a couple of months, these zero drop sandals are a definite improvement on the traditional heel-toe drop of the much more rigid Teva's that I previously used.

Going zero drop, barefoot has done my body a lot of good, I think.

Comfortable and pads feet against rocky shores  and woodland roots.

but with a proper snug strap adjustment,  there's No issue.

Light weight for camp shoes or the occasional wet wade when hiking.

I've been solely using my Z Trails as my "popping out to the store" and "walking the dog" shoes to help me ease into them and I think that has been a beneficial approach, and now I am taking 2plus mile walks and hiking in them.

Meh… Not as wide as Propet XX-Wide footwear that I’ve worn in the past, minimally sized straps, sounds like walking on rice cereal/bubble wrap.

but the two top, adjustable strap aren't even CLOSE to being long enough for people with fat feet.

The center strap didn't reach the velcro..

There was about 2 inches in the middle of the strap with nothing, so I glued some more velcro on with contact cement, so the center strap could finally reach something to cling to..

The manufactures should consider adding an extra 2 inches of velcro to the center strap on their "Wide" sandals.

Great alternative to Teva's for those of us with Wide Feet
On my second pair, these are great sandals for those of us with wide feet, very comfortable and they look great.

These sandals fit length-wise and the back strap fit, 

Thrilled to have found these sandals for my husband!

The XX-wide in these sandals work great for him, says they're the most comfortable footwear he's had in years!!

Fully adjustable without an underside stretch band that often comes with other sandals.


I purchased Propet hiking boots last fall an they were so good that when I was looking for sandals I bought the same brand.
