The way the shoe is made it is quite tight across the top of the foot where the criss-cross elastics are.

Saucony is good as stride rite for wide feet
We have only bought stride rite to this point for my kids.

1) these shoes look really classy (the grey ones) 2) they seem well made and comfortable 3) I got a 9wide Clark's sneaker too and he walked in one on one foot and the saucony on the other and several times insisted on keeping the saucony ones 4)the length is good and plenty of room to grow

however look very nice, were lightweight and Saucony is a great brand.

I just so happened to check at the right time and got a 10.5 pair of these Saucony shoes on a really great deal ($12).

Ordered these shoes for my 5 year old as a replacement to his last pair of never lasting stride rights.

but they have the same symbol on the side of the shoe which he thinks is pretty cool when we are wearing our Saucony shoes at the same time.

Thanks Saucony for helping to provide a special moment for my son and I which is absolutely what I live for with my children.

6) the width seems appropriate and I was happy the Velcro can adjust for width of feet to make sure not too tight.

We keep buying them because they are the best shoes for a toddler with a higher instep or wider feet.

Even with wider feet, due to the design (criss cross elastic band stretch across the front), they fit nicely.

but his foot isn't lifting out of the back of the shoe when he walks so it's a good design 5)I'm a stickler for avoiding toxins as much as possible especially for kids and knowing feet are porous and stuff goes right to your bloodstream thru your feet.

For children, it should be all about comfort, not what something looks like (but these shoes do look great).

The comfort and ease of wear of these shoes for a child's feet is the important factor.


After Stride Rite, these are my favourite shoes for my boys.

The shoes from a parents perspective are good quality and appear to look as if they are going to last as long as 5 year old boys shoes do.

From a childs perspective he couldn't be happier with the purchase and has worn them daily since the purchase.

That being said you better be prepared to reglue the rubber strips on the bottom of your shoes.

The rubber sole is not one piece and the strips separate from the shoe.

8/30/2020 UPDATE: Lost a star, as 1) more eyelets broke, and 2) the padding at the back of the ankle wore away, leaving me with a really nasty rub and blister.

With the worn away padding in the back, yes, I could have stopped sooner, that's on me,

No more "start at the bottom, work your way up" to tighten the shoe.

The IsoFit models almost don't feel like I'm wearing a shoe at all.

Just like other reviews stated, Saucony keeps on making their shoe smaller for the same size, I use to wear a 12.5, in the Zealots 13 is too small and 14 is too much of a size jump.

The only complaint that I have to the shoe maker is that two of the eyelets near the top have torn.

That's the only negative I've found with them so far-pull too hard, and the eyelets will eventually rip.

Really hugs well, no loose points with your foot sliding around, and conversely, no pinch points either (I have wide feet, no issue).

but last 2 pairs the heel part of the rubber sole blew out after 1 month of running and then 2nd pair, 10 days of running.

On the first day my son wore his new pair of shoes, the threading on the front of the right shoe became completely unthreaded.

These were worn only around the house and started falling apart within weeks. Disappointing.

I ordered my normal size and it was to tight.

I returned them and ordered a full size up and still was too small.

but when I tried them on they felt like a size 9 or 10.

Could bearly get my foot in the shoe it was so tight and small.

Would suggest ordering a size up if planning on purchasing this shoe

but even though I ordered a half-size up from my standard, I still felt these were a bit too tight to be comfortable.

But my foot felt a bit squeezed in the ball of my foot area (all around, mostly from top to bottom), even after I tried loosening the laces, so ordering a larger size probably wouldn't fix the problem without making the shoe too long.
