The reviews often said that the size runs small, so I order a half size larger than usual. At first, when I put them on, they felt very tight and I thought, "uh oh."

However, that is not an issue, it's my fault, and I'd rather have them be a bit too big than a bit too small.

The sole is a single hard plastic molded plate and I am a bit concerned it might not be very flexible for sprinting,

However, after walking around in them for just a few minutes, they seemed to conform to the shape of my foot.

Not as roomy of a toe box as my other Whitin shoes.

but I was disappointed to see the toe box not be as wide as my other Whitin shoes.

I feel like being an athletic shoe, its toe box should be just as wide, if not wider, than my casual shoe.

The problem is, the finish is a little sloppy, with a crinkly finish on the left shoe by the ankle and a kind of pronounced dip on the right shoe where the molded toe box ends.


The shoe is far to tight and short thus eliminating the wide toe box.

Eight eyelets are too small impeding the lacing process.

The cloth eyelet on the shoe’s tongue is to wide providing insufficient room for laces.

If I were to guess, these shoes are approximately ¼ of an inch narrower in the toe.

It was only a little bit uncomfortable, But I'm concerned if I were to do a long hike or run, I'll end up with chafing or blisters on the top of my toes.

If I could use these shoes I would opt for a couple pair as I got through shoes quickly and most are extremely uncomfortable.

The toe box is still far and away much better than conventional foot shapes in today's shoes,

However, the flexibility of the shoe helps it be a little more robust to getting torn up too easy.

As far as the fit it's very good, probably better than the other Whiten shoes I just rated.

They stretch a lot
When ordering byes size smaller at least one size if not two sizes they do stretch

I ordered these in size 9 first, too small-ordered size 9.5, still too small- oh, and the "Made in Ecuador" shoes were different sizes, the toe on the left shoe slanted backward instead of rounding outward like the right shoe, essentially making the left 1/2 size smaller.

Bottom line- order one full size larger than normal.

These come a size small so order about .5 up

Vivobarefoot, if you don't have the stock, which is evident by the lack of shoe sizes available for EVERY STYLE (especially size 12) do not advertise that you do and allow me the consumer (and potential vivobarefoot fan boy) to place the order and then be let down when you fail to me your delivery service level objective.

The insoles don't even lay flat in the shoe
The insoles bend up in the middle and don't even fit the shoe.

The only negative thing I would say is because they are all leather they are stiff at first and it takes a bit to break them in.

I recommend ordering one size smaller than you normally do.
