They're not like 5 star shoes up there with your Asics and Hokas,

That won't be a problem with these shoes -- their soles have a very pronounced grip pattern which should provide much better traction than I had before.

The tread on the bottom looks barely worn

but the stitching came undone so the bottom on the toes part is detached from the upper part.
