These slippers are very comfortable to wear, and they also provide excellent grip - whether it's between the slippers and the floor, or between the slippers and my feet.

ASICS Men's Gel-Kayano 28 Mesh Knit Running Shoes

I DO NOT like the "sock" system incorporated in these new Kayano running shoes.

It is very difficult to get the running shoes on and it does not provide that much more support thank my earlier version.

really regret purchasing these running shoes for over $200!!!!!!! !

But, I did not like the top and tongue approach; it feels like you are squeezing on a water shoe (or scuba shoe).

For this shoe it refers to the opening which is a tight meshknit that is hard to squeeze your feet into.

The rear of the shoe by your heel is a tad thicker, so it can be a tighter squeeze with heavy socks.

but two things that did not work for me: 1) This is a knit shoe, so it was not as easy to get on as my other Kayanos that are not knit; 2) The left heel rubbed me uncomfortably at the top of the shoe.

I ended up returning these shoes and going with a GT-2000 for a more conventional top/lace/tongue approach.

Like slippers and have no break in period; nice, right from the box.

They feel stable when I run, the trails I run are a combination of wood plank path, gravel and mulch and I feel sturdy in these shoes.

I like the elastic  around the ankle, it makes the shoe feel a little more stable and it keeps small rocks and such from getting into the shoe.

I was disappointed when the inside became rough with little balls scratching the bottom of my feet.

However, despite trying a smaller size and overall the shoe running wide, long, a high instep and even with a thick custom orthotic inserted, the shoe required too much foot/toe effort to prevent clog from slipping off feet.

Had to size down from usual Merrell 8M to a 7.5M for for a snugger, more secure fit.

CONCLUSION: This is a beautifully colored and well constructed shoe that would make an excellent house slipper, especially since it has enough depth for a custom thick orthotic.
