I had to return my first pair because they seemed to run about 1/2 a size small in the toe box.

My husband order a similar pair of men’s hiking boots and his ran 1/2 size small as well.

However I took them for a spin hiking near Yosemite and I was nearly in tears by the end of our short hike because my feet were in so much pain.

but they compress my big toe/ toenail downward in a way that’s really uncomfortable and would eventually result in injury if I left them on.

Overall I would recommend theses hiking boots if you want a very comfortable boot that your feet will melt into!

I have flat feet and these make walking around comfortable for once and a bonus for looking like tennis shoes too.

They are so comfortable, well made, and come in a beautiful color theme.

They are comfortable on the feet and fit true to size for me--a 10 is a 10.

These are otherwise fantastic “hiking boots.” They have such good padding (it feels like a thick layer of memory foam) and are very springy.

So, bottom line… if you don’t have big toes and are doing lighter hikes or walks, they’re great.

I usually size up on hiking shoes and I'm glad I did with these ones.

These are great for hiking and for working outdoors.

Size: I ordered these boots a full size too large based on the recommendations of others, and found them still too small.

The rivets for the eyelets have a small diameter, and I suspect this will lead to early fatigue or failure of the component, especially if you tend to lace tighter for descending terrain.

These boots are not Gore-Tex lined and are among the few that can be found without such a waterproof liner.

They are not insulated for cold, so go with a larger size and heavier wool socks for night time temperatures / hikes.

They are made in Europe so ABSOLUTELY order them a half size larger if you are used to North American sizing.

They are suitable for warm, arid environments where a moisture barrier would significantly increase the amount of sweat retained in the foot pocket, leading to a miserable hiking experience.

Because of the soft rubber soles and lightweight materials, they are essentially glorified sneakers, so there is a very minimal break-in period.

Highly recommend these boots for for anyone looking for a good all around multi terrain hiking boot.

I’ve been planning a trip to Iceland with my daughter for awhile now and realized I would need some good hiking boots early on.

I usually measure that by how good the reviews are, and the reviews for this boot were great.

The outside of these boots is made of a very good quality leather that you can feel as soon as you put them on.

but the boots were too small. I’m hoping a size 10 will do the trick  (Can't really rate them if I don’t wear them as I need a different size.)

The shoe on the left in the photo is a pair of men’s xero’s that I have had for about 2 years.

So I ordered W8.5 and it was definitely too small.

Ordered a W9 and right on the border of too smaller (definitely still too small for a hiking boot since you want to leave room for your feet to swell)

Unfortunately for me, the toe box is not wide enough and the heel too wide No matter how tight I tie the shoes or what hiking socks I wear, I know if I use these shoes for a hike the ankles will be uncomfortable and the toe box not wide enough.

They only has EEEE and the heel is a bit too wide.

but the Eddie Bauer boot did not fit correctly; either too big or too small--probably because a wide width was not available.

New Balance does run a little narrower than most USA brands,

A few notes: 1) not as wide as many 4E's,

If you struggle with 4E width being slightly narrow, these might not be the right choice.

I wear out a pair of Walmart boots about every 6 months and wasn't really surprised when they started coming out of the box ill-fitting.

All of the above is to say these are the slipperiest shoes I have possibly ever worn; far worse than the Asics or any of the hiking boot/shoes.

It truly takes the joy out of hiking when you are not able to take regular strides because you are worried about slipping and then, you slip anyway.

left and right shoes do not feel the same size and visually lack symmetry.

These boots are very lightweight, not much heavier than sneakers, so they don't slow me down like some boots.

I have had many different hiking boots (Vasque Monolith, Keen Utility Flint, Dunham Cloud, Carhartt CMH4375, Merrell Moab and Moab 2) and all of them are far superior to regular trainers for traction when hiking.

I really like these boots.

They are very supportive, despite the light weight.

I would buy them again, based on the limited selection in 12 4E, provided I was buying a lightweight duty/hiking boot.

I buy New Balance shoes because they come in a wide width.

Like other New Balance Shoes, I am very happy with this shoe.

but that does not diminish my like and endorsement of this New Balance hiking shoe.

Anyway, I gladly paid more for the New Balance shoe because it fits correctly and my experience and opinion is that New Balance makes a superior product.
