I pair these water shoes with sand/beach volleyball socks and it works perfect.

The socks keep the sand out while the water shoes let the water flow through.

They are roomy (if you need to add socks)

The main & most obvious difference is the smell, as soon as you open the box you'll be hit in the face with a strong rubber smell like a cheap bicycle inner-tube purchased at Walmart; and this smell isn't easy to get rid of.

As most readers likely know, LaCrosse boots used to be made here stateside but they moved production to China a few years back.

Small Heal
In my opinion the Alpha Burly is a much more comfortable boot,

These (Burly Classic) are a plain rubber boot, which is fine.

Still Going Strong
I've had the same pair boots for 13 years now and they are still going strong.

Given the durability and longevity I would definitely recommend these boots.

I highly recommend these as great winter work boots.

I tuck my pant legs into them and I'm warm and dry.

The traction is solid on my steep driveway and they are quite comfortable.

but stays comfortable even in warm temperatures.

Runs unusually small
Received them today.

even though reviews say to size up a 1/2 size which I did, the boots are too small.

When reviews say they run small, in  this  case its true.. size up1 whole size

Odd Boots
I only gave a 3 star as I am unable to return as I live in South Africa and I ordered and got a friend to bring out to me.

I wear a solid 7 always and now will have to return the 7 1/2's and have ordered the 8's hope those fit.

I don't think the boots match - the right boot is a lot looser than the left (like it had been stretched or worn) and the black toe covering is different to the left boot.

My only criticism of the boot is the tongue doesn't come up to the top and the last lacing doesn't close completely.

They were so comfortable and warm and I didn’t need toe warmers or extra socks.

I wore them everyday for three weeks from beaches, to hills, to city streets, farms, horse back riding, boating and more.

I do love that they are very comfortable, warm and waterproof and what I am unable to get in SA so I would say I would buy again as long as I could try on and able to switch out if necessary.

It is a very comfortable boot and warm enough for our Canadian winters.

Good shoes for whitewater kayaking
These, with thin neoprene fin socks, are good shoes for WW kayaking.

Perfect shoe for me
Took these out when I went hiking at some waterfalls.

Water drains pretty well and the grip is good enough for some light hiking.

It's the perfect shoe for walking in water.
