I also purchase the Columbia Women's 4 Pack Moisture Control Crew Socks and those worked perfectly with these shoes.

I wore lightweight wool blend socks with them which prevented blisters.

I also doubled up on socks on the rest of my walks to further break it in and that helped tremendously.

I used these boots on Fernwood and Adam's Canyon Trail in Layton, UT. Although I was certainly tired after the hike, these boots really kept me going through all the dirt, rocks, creeks (no wet socks here!)

I bought these boots for a trip to Costa Rica for some moderate hiking in rainforest trails, and am very thankful to say that they have held up really well not only for the trip,

The waterproofing is great, they’re extremely comfortable, and on par with some much more expensive, hiking boots that I have had in the past, great buy!

The downside was they were very uncomfortable out of the box - stiff and just not the right shape for my foot.

These have an arch support which is somewhat painful, I am not going to lie.

The mid rise top didn’t rub on my achilles, and honestly the ankle pad was so soft I might do a short sock and 7/8 jean look this weekend.

Overall, if you’re looking for something that’ll protect you from the elements on an everyday basis without the bulk of heavy-duty hiking boots, these are excellent.

I feel like I’m wearing a shoe more than a boot, and that’s exactly what I wanted.

They are pretty good boots, and they're cute.

I've worn many boots in my day and never had this issue so I think the sizing of this boot is unusual.

I also can't tighten the laces much on my foot, it just ends up making the ankle really tight.

Also the laces are way too slippery, they don't stay tied unless I double knot them.

Great Boots for Use in Cold Weather with Electrically  Heated Socks:
I bought these shoes for use in keeping my feet warm when cycling in the winter.

I then examined the use of electrically heated wool socks with my foam booties which greatly helped at keeping my toes warm.

I think that the electrically heated socks would keep my feet warm for a good half day,

(I should note that using them for cycling doesn’t put the same pressure or strain on the boots that hiking would.)

The boots are well constructed and well insulated and should keep your feet nice and warm.

That was a perfect fit that was not too snug.

The boots are well insulated from top to bottom and I didn’t need any auxiliary heating until late in the afternoon as the temperature dropped.

This combination worked great for me and I am well pleased with the results that I have experienced with these boots.

I used them for 4 days in the snow and they were comfortable enough, loved the way they looked and worked great, My feet were super dry!

Previous reviews are correct: they didn’t need a huge break-in period, they are very comfortable, and they keep the water out.

Higher Heel Than Expected
I can't wear heels because I have to wear a brace that goes behind my shin and under my foot so anything i wear has to be flat.

I also like the fact they are much more stylish than the typical hiking boot.

I returned these boots because I have very narrow feet and because the tongue and lacing is set for "style" my feet were all over the place and it was stitched down so I couldn't tighten the boot.

To better explain the toe box is tight vertically so its impossible to like even slightly move ure toes once the shoe is on  I do have a chubbier foot so this may not be an issue if say you're under 165lbs.

Ordered normal size and could not pull the boot on my foot.

but I think I'll need to purchase the fully padded ones (cushion all around) now that I know it digs in like this.

In these boots, which I ordered in 6.5, I found it almost impossible to slide my medium-width feet into, and there was excess space of about .5 to 1 inch beyond my toes.

The hole is so small and the straps across the top don’t adjust or give any leeway.

I can’t actually get my feet into them without undoing the straps,

When hiking and walking, the stitching rubs surprisingly hard into your feet and this is not a sizing issue at all.

It also seems to help to wear good socks.

I have the hiking boot version of Sypes and with them my foot pain has gone away completely and am so happy I have now changed in my walking shoes for the low-top.

These Oboz Sypes shoes can be great for walking, light hiking and all-around use.

This user likes the soles, which provide good protection on lots of walking surfaces.

The shoe fits on your foot almost more like a sock.

Standing still for long periods is as comfortable as any hiking boots I've worn.

As for durability, the shoe appears as durable as the hiking version, which is to say, very well constructed.

The grip is solid, albeit a bit less aggressive since they attempted to incorporate non-slip-on-smooth-wet-surfaces type grip rather than the aggressive, large grip treads of the hiking shoe.

I have used them both for hiking and climbing/bouldering, and the grip points rising high up the sides are super useful; you can bend your foot almost unrestricted and find grips on more than just the soles.

Instead of a tradtional tongue and lace system, these have a neoprene inner boot that wraps around your upper foot/ankle.
